Update on the spring fundraiser event held jointly by La'angum Learning Center and Albrook School in New Jersey.
From the Program Director Majeed: I am pleased to share with you this report on our recent 5K Walk in Ghana. The event brought together learners, teachers, parents, and community members in a spirit of unity and purpose. Below are the highlights and key outcomes from the walk.
We began the 5K Walk on 14th May 2026 at the PAMBE Ghana office in Langbinsi. The PTA Chairman and several executives joined us, alongside BECE candidates who had just completed their exams, past teachers of LLC, current teachers, and other community members. Their presence brought great energy and unity to the event. The weather was also friendly, making the walk even more enjoyable.
At the Langbinsi Chief’s Palace, the Chief encouraged learners to make the most of the resources and dedicated teachers available to them, reminding them that education is their greatest opportunity.
At the Langbinsi Presbyterian Health Center, health workers advised both teachers and learners to avoid self-medicating at drugstores when faced with common ailments such as stomach aches or headaches. They emphasized that the health center should always be the first point of contact.
At the government-owned Langbinsi Health Center, the officer in charge urged learners to consistently practice personal hygiene—both at school and at home—highlighting its importance for long-term health.
Parents also showed their support by making donations during the walk. At the end of the day, teachers and students returned to the PAMBE Ghana office in Langbinsi, where lunch was served from the school. The atmosphere was joyful, and the walk proved to be not only productive but also highly enjoyable.
By the close of the event, we had raised GHC 4,700 (USD $400).
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Albrook School for their continuous support and partnership. Your contribution has been invaluable, and we truly appreciate your commitment. Thank you
