The Canadian Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution proudly celebrated the patriotism and community spirit of the fire stations in El Reno, Yukon, and Mustang. Members of the chapter, including the distinguished American Revolution Color Guard, visited each station to present certificates of commendation for patriotism.
“These fire stations exemplify a deep respect for the American flag, ensuring it remains a dignified symbol of freedom and unity”, said Chapter President Eric Koonce. “They meticulously maintain their flags, keeping them free of tatters, properly illuminated at night, and protected during inclement weather. Their commitment not only honors the traditions of our nation but also serves as an inspiration to all who see the flag flying proudly outside their stations.
“We are proud to recognize these fire stations for their patriotism and unwavering service to our communities. Their dedication to preserving the integrity of our nation’s symbol is a testament to their character and values.”
The visits were a meaningful gesture of gratitude, with the Color Guard dressed in traditional Revolutionary War attire, a poignant reminder of the heritage and sacrifices that the flag represents.
Firefighters at each station welcomed the chapter members warmly, reflecting the mutual respect and camaraderie shared by all.
The Canadian Valley Chapter remains steadfast in its mission to promote patriotism and honor those who serve their communities and country. Recognizing the fire stations of El Reno, Yukon, and Mustang for their exemplary care of the American flag is one way the chapter continues to uphold the principles of the Sons of the American Revolution.

The Sons of the American Revolution, whose members trace lineage to Revolutionary War Patriots, are actively involved with the Eagle Scouts in Scouting America, volunteer with the VA hospital and nursing homes, and perform and teach educational programs in the local schools.
