MEET OUR CADRE: JUSTIN MANN 🔥

Next up in our Meet the Cadre series is Justin Mann — Partner & CFO of Wood’s Forcible Entry.

Justin is a 23-year veteran of the fire service and has been part of Wood’s since the beginning. He currently serves as a Major with the Edmond Fire Department and instructs at both the state and national level.

Faith and family come first for Justin, followed closely by his commitment to the fire service. His passion for Forcible Entry and Engine Company Operations, combined with more than two decades of experience, has helped shape the training, products, and mission behind Wood’s Forcible Entry.

And when he’s not at the firehouse, teaching, or keeping Wood’s finances in line? You’ll probably find him looking for fresh snow. ⛷️

So, pro tip: If your department is near a ski resort and needs an FE prop, you may have some negotiating leverage. 😂

This week will be an important meeting. Anyone that’s interested in volunteering for the conference whether it’s the lecture or HOT I highly recommend attending. I would like to have a definite list of all volunteers and their roles.

Our Spring Break Your Habits ran soooo smoothly and it’s my hopes that we can do the same for our conference!

On top of that we will have many other updates for the conference including what raffle items we’ve acquired, total attendance to date and sponsorships.

I would like to see everyone that wants to be a part of our kick ass conference there if possible! Obviously if you’re on shift I know you can’t make it.

Norman Fire Department officials presented a long-range facilities and staffing plan that addresses needs identified in a recent resource allocation study during a city council study session Tuesday.

The Training Officers Academy is a three-day program built for the people responsible for developing their department’s most important resource—its firefighters. Hosted by the Midwest City Fire Department October 27–29, the Training Officers Academy brings together nationally recognized instructors to address training officer development, probationary firefighter programs, instructional technology, incident command training, and live-fire program management.

With only 30 seats available, this is intentionally designed as a smaller cohort experience—not a large conference. Participants will have meaningful access to the instructors, engage in focused discussion, and build relationships with other training officers facing many of the same organizational challenges. Daily lunches and an evening networking opportunity are included to help those conversations continue beyond the classroom.
