Final 2026 Friends of Will Rogers Gardens Plant Sale is this Saturday. April 18th from 8:30 am - noon. The twist - the sale is not at Will Rogers Gardens, it is in the Conference Center of the Oklahoma County OSU Extension Center. Your last chance to grab King Tut Papyrus, 2 different types of Sansevieria, sun tolerant Coleus, Peach Blooming Cannas, Yellow Blooming Purslane, African Blue Basil, John Fanick Phlox, Rudbeckia Maxima, Purple Trailing Lantana, Lemon Balm, Brown Turkey Figs, and Desert Bird of Paradise. New for this sale - we will have a selection of succulents. One free Wild Bergamot per customer while supplies last! We will not be selling mulch or potting soil at this sale.

a second crew, OU Catholics, volunteered for the Oklahoma Iris Society, mulching the Iris beds at Will Rogers Gardens, then helped fill our accessible gardening bins and then mulched some of the Master Gardener beds! Thanks everyone!

A project 8 years in the making! In 2018 Will Rogers Gardens staff member, Eric Duncan, built 4 bins for accessible gardening. The project stalled until this year when staff members came up with a plan and Eddie put in the physical labor to get the space ready and the bins moved into place. Shout out for helping us get the bins filled with branches & soil today ! Great work everyone!

Tuesday was a busy day at Will Rogers Gardens! A group of 15 Oklahoma County Master Gardeners removed spent annuals, planted pansies, moved a ginormous turks cap in a small bed to a more appropriate, larger bed, mulched beds and potted up plants in the greenhouse. Meanwhile the WRG staff was hard at work recovering the hoop house. The hoop house space will be utilized for seed starting and equipped with sides that can be rolled up in warmer temperatures.
