This MCADer/Mito little girl is flying for the first time since she was a baby. This time she is flying across the US. She is on over 20 meds which most are liquid and she has formula and a couple machines that need to go. If anyone has any advice to make this smoother they are greatly appreciated. Her cheer team is in the top 10% of the nation to be invited to The Summit in Walt Disney World. This is a dream come true and she has been working hard to raise the funds to get there also.

Want to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas!! This is our second year in a row that we have not been in the hospital. We are on cloud nine... With that she goes in for surgery on Wednesday.

I'm at a loss tonight! We didn't even get through 2 weeks of school before our first hospitalization. They had a room for us and they just rushed in and said she needs to go to the oncology wing because her sugars go way up and within 30 minutes drop over 100 on D10. They are talking about putting on an insulin pump. We have a bad lactate level which they said explains the bad muscle aches and joint pain. She won't weight bear at all. Hoping for a short stay. She is 9 with MCAD/mito.

Happy 5th Birthday Layla Rain! 5 years ago when we found about about her condition (SCAD) I didn't think we would ever make it to her 5th birthday. She has grown up to be a mighty fierce smart little girl. And as you can see in the video here on the page. She STILL is lost in her own world just like she was then. We haven't been in a hospital overnight in a very long time but we had a huge scare lately. We have learned how to
Pull out of it at home and it makes me very proud as much as we have educated ourselves. Congratulations To my husband and I and our little Layla! We made it 💜

I HAVE to share this with other FOD moms! My Layla has issues fighting her blood sugar (high & low) she doesn't eat her vegetables, and her immune system is incredibly low. I need some advice/tips; my MCADer was recently in the hospital fighting a couple infections. She has seen some friends from school and they ask her what is going on and why she was there. She tells them I was in the hospital because I was sick. They then ask why do you have to go to the hospital if you were just sick? I need help in explaining it in their terms. Should I ask to talk to the class as a whole? The kids all love Kadynce, this is the first year the kids are very curious and trying to understand. They just don't understand why she has to go to the hospital for things they don't. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Kadynce is turning to me to answer all questions now.

Today this MCADer is 9 years old!! She is an AMAZING little girl!! She has made life so fun and made me look at it differently! She does spend quite a bit of time in the hospital, but her fight is like no other!! Happy Birthday Kadynce!

It's been forever since I've updated but here's Layla 4 1/2 scad it's been 2 years this Christmas since an over night hospital visit. And now racing BMX. She does well as long as we are constantly snacking
