What an incredible start to the school year! 🍃💚

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Putnam City Schools Foundation has already funded several YES! Grants, including:

🍃 New Teacher Academy – Districtwide
🍃 Hispanic Living Museum Transportation – Districtwide
🍃 Author Visit Books – Central Elementary
🍃 Clinic Organization Supplies – Hefner Middle School
🍃 Literacy & Empathy Books – Rollingwood Elementary
🍃 Diverse Stories for English Language Learners – Rollingwood Elementary
🍃 Counseling Activities & Supplies – Ralph Downs Elementary
🍃 Read-Aloud Books – Will Rogers Elementary

And even more great news — our wonderful corporate partner, Love’s, has approved a $20,000 grant to help us continue funding classroom projects throughout Putnam City Schools!

🍎 Teachers: YES! Grant applications are available on our website.

💡 Did you know? Educators who participate in Friends of the Foundation help strengthen our ability to support classrooms across the district, and participation is considered as part of our grant review process.

☕ A little coffee, a lot of kindness!

We were honored that Simple Modern chose Dennis Elementary—home of Putnam City Schools’ Teacher of the Year, Felicia Reasnor—to celebrate National Coffee Day yesterday!

Together with Giddy Up Coffee Cart, Simple Modern brightened morning drop-off with free coffee and Simple Modern tumblers for parents and caregivers, while treating the school’s incredible staff.

At the Putnam City Schools Foundation, we are so grateful for this partnership and the generosity Simple Modern brings to our school community. Thank you for making our educators and families feel appreciated—one cup at a time! ☕✨

WOW — what a night!

Our preliminary numbers are still trickling in, but it looks like this year’s Putnam City Schools Foundation Wall of Fame grossed more than $132,000!

We were especially honored to recognize our incredible Penny’s Closet volunteer, Barbara Minton, for her years of service and dedication to Putnam City families; celebrate Sodexo as our Community Partner of the Year; and officially welcome Jim Morris, Putnam City High Class of 1969, into the Putnam City Schools Foundation Wall of Fame.

Congratulations to each of our honorees, and thank you to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, performer, guest, board member, staff member and community partner who helped make this incredible evening possible.

Your generosity does so much more than make one special night successful — it helps fund the work of the Putnam City Schools Foundation and allows us to continue supporting the students, teachers and families of Putnam City Schools.

And the winner is… Hefner Middle School!

Our 2026 Wall of Fame 50/50 Raffle officially closed with a final pot of $6,170, and Hefner Middle School is taking home $3,085 for its activity fund!

The other half, $3,085, will go to Putnam City Schools Foundation to help support students, teachers and families across Putnam City Schools.

Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, sponsored a school entry and helped us build such an incredible final pot. We are so grateful for all the support!

The tables are almost set, the auction items are ready, and we are counting down the final hours until Wall of Fame 2026!

Tomorrow evening, we will proudly welcome the Putnam City community as we induct Jim Morris ’69 into the Putnam City Schools Foundation Wall of Fame and celebrate Sodexo as our Community Partner of the Year.

The 2026 Wall of Fame 50/50 Raffle is growing fast, and Greg Clyde, one of Putnam City Schools Foundation’s own board members, is here to explain exactly how it works!

The pot is already up to $3,050, which means one winner could currently walk away with $1,525, and it can keep growing from here.

Here’s the important part: you do NOT have to be present at Wall of Fame to win. One lucky winner receives half of the final pot, while the other half goes directly to Putnam City Schools Foundation to support students, teachers and families across Putnam City Schools.

You can also sponsor a school’s entry and give them a chance to be part of the fun!
