This No Kings is going to look a little different from the ones we’ve done before, and that’s intentional.
No Kings is asking communities across the country to turn people power into voter power this October, and that’s exactly what we’re planning in Edmond.
We’ll start the morning with a family-friendly, pro-democracy sign demonstration with a very specific purpose: GET OUT THE VOTE. Our signs will remind people that an election is coming, share early voting dates and encourage Oklahomans to make a plan to vote.
Then we move into direct action.
Those willing and able will head into surrounding neighborhoods in teams for targeted literature drops. No door knocking or conversations required. We’ll simply leave voters useful information about early voting, absentee voting, finding their polling place and making a plan to vote.
We’ll need drivers and walkers to make those teams happen.
For those who can’t do the neighborhood portion, we’ll have postcard writing to newly registered voters happening at the same time.
We’ll chalk our cars, have some fun with it, and families are absolutely welcome to participate together.
And we won’t be doing this alone. Our friends in Oklahoma City will be holding their own No Kings: Vote Early Day of Action at the same time.
Once the work is finished, we’ll come together with our OKC friends for a CELEBRATORY SOCIAL and tally our collective impact!
We have an opportunity to make October 17 one of the biggest coordinated get-out-the-vote efforts our metro has seen.
But that only happens if we show up and do the work.
No Kings describes October 17 as the next step: moving from protest to supporting nonpartisan voter participation and turning moments of action into sustained power.
And I know a lot of you have been asking:
“But what can I actually DO?”
Here it is.
Whether you can walk a neighborhood, drive a team, write postcards, chalk a car or stand beside us with a sign, there is a way to be part of this.

NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY - OKC DAY OF ACTION
October 17 is about turning people power into voter power.
We’ll start the morning together with a family-friendly GOTV sign demonstration, reminding Oklahomans that an election is coming, sharing early voting dates, and encouraging people to make a plan to vote.
Then we get to work.
Here’s how you can take part:
🪧 Hold a sign at our morning GOTV demonstration.
🚗 Drive a team into surrounding neighborhoods.
👟 Walk a neighborhood and drop off useful voting information. (No door knocking or conversations required.)
✉️ Write postcards to newly registered voters.
🎨 Chalk your car with reminders to register, verify registration, and vote.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Bring the family. There are ways for everyone to participate.
Our friends in Edmond will be holding their own No Kings: Vote Early Day of Action at the same time. When the work is done, we’ll come together for a celebratory social and tally our collective impact across the metro!
If you’ve been asking, “What can I actually do?”
This is it.
We need all hands on deck October 17.

Vote NO on August 25th!

There will be two State Questions on the August 25th ballot that we ALL get to vote on (including Independents)!

SQ 844: Amending Certain Tax Revenue Reimbursements:
Requires the Legislature to create a new reimbursement method for county property tax exemptions. Under Oklahoma law, new and expanding manufacturers (including data centers) qualify for a 5-year exemption from property taxes. That creates a shortfall for the county which can affect funding for schools, libraries, and emergency services. SQ844 would end the state’s requirement to reimburse the counties in full, while leaving it open for the legislature to determine how much to reimburse them after voters pass this constitutional amendment.

SQ 846: Voter Identification Requirement Amendment:
Voter ID has been required in Oklahoma since 2011. SQ 846 would move it into the Constitution while leaving acceptable forms of ID to be decided later by the Legislature.

Because these would become constitutional amendments, future changes would require another statewide vote.
