Potts Family Foundation

Potts Family Foundation We are a family foundation, organized as a supporting organization to provide support for sustainable early childhood initiatives and Oklahoma nonprofits.

The Potts Family Foundation has two primary areas of focus. The first area of focus is to increase the effectiveness of organizations in improving their communities. We do so through
The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. Visit their site at www.oklahomacenterfornonprofits.org to learn more about their work. The second area of focus is supporting long-term economic growth in Oklahoma through early ch

ildhood education. We do so through our Oklahoma Champions for Early Opportunities (OKCEO) program. These two areas of focus are accomplished by means of: education, advocacy, collaboration, and grant-making.

😀You don't have to be a conference registrant to attend this training!😀

The Rooted & Responsive training is ideal for anyone who'd like an up-to-date training on Community Resources and Charting the Life Course.

Charting the LifeCourse is a framework developed to help individuals and families at any age or stage of life think about what they need to know, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live. Individuals and families may focus on their current situation and stage of life but may also find it helpful to look ahead to start thinking about what they can do or learn what will help build an inclusive productive life in the future.

Wednesday, May 27 from 2:00-3:00 PM on Zoom for the Spring Convening of The Early Childhood Agenda hosted by Strategies for Children
https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/uhgiJREERlmdiwoq5HzHZw

Our main theme will be research, including a recap of the second annual Massachusetts Early Childhood Policy Research Summit from event organizers Dr. Wendy Wagner Robeson, Wellesley Centers for Women and Dr. Kyle DeMeo Cook, Boston University Wheelock College - both from the Massachusetts Early Childhood Policy and Research Collaborative.

We will also hear “big picture” updates from State Representative Jay Livingstone (8th Suffolk) on the Massachusetts state budget, and its impact on early childhood programs, systems, and services.

The Early Childhood Agenda creates opportunities to learn, connect, and collaborate. Everyone is welcome: early childhood professionals, parents, policymakers, and advocates. Be a part of meaningful change in early childhood systems across Massachusetts for young children and their families.

When you talk, read, and sing with your children—even before they can use words—you’re building their brains and helping to prepare them for success in school and beyond. 🧠🤓

Talking is Teaching is a nonprofit whose website has tools and resources to help you talk, read, and sing with your child every day. 👶🏽👶🏼👶🏻👶🏾

For example, meal time is a great time to talk and sing together! 🍽️

Today is a day to pause, reflect and remember the ultimate sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.

From soldiers who fell in battle to Veterans who carried their service with pride until their final days, their legacies live on in the freedoms we enjoy today.

Today would have been our trailblazing founder Pat Potts's 93rd birthday. 💐

As we pause to remember and celebrate her, we'd like to share with you a wonderful interview she did in 2019, on the occasion of her induction into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/iV6HYXbq8Xg?si=IoCozaAKO8unkJZw

We continue to be grateful, inspired and awestruck by this amazing woman.
