We are happy to announce that the Cherokee Nation has made a plan to raise its minimum wage to $15 by 2025. Raising their minimum wage $1 each year is a great approach to reach this goal👏👏

Who We Are: WageUpOKC

We started WageUpOKC in May of 2018, after learning about poverty as part of our eighth-grade curriculum. Our research led the twelve of us to believe that minimum wage is too low and that it is unfair for full-time employees to be paid only $7.25 per hour. Therefore, we decided to make a change in our community, and encourage a living wage of at least $12 per hour. Now that we are in high school, we want to keep the dream alive, and partner with 208 or more businesses that either pay a living wage or agree to work towards it, by May of 2022.
