We celebrate the faithful leadership of Native American women who have strengthened our church and culture.

As early as 1907, Sandy Chalakee affirmed the power of preserving traditional language, practicing traditional crafts, and even conducting local unit meetings in her Native language — reminding us that faith and culture belong together.

In 1992, Rev. Louis G. Neal became the first Native American woman named district superintendent in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference. She mentored Native women to answer God's call with courage and confidence.

Their legacy: Making United Women in Faith a place of belonging for women of all cultures and backgrounds and fostering a culture of mentorship. We are stronger together. Always.
