We’ve been interviewing touring musicians 🤘 and Curbside vendors about songs that’ve made a difference in their lives for several years now. Today, we’re featuring 🎸 Shakey Graves, the musical outlet of Texas-born songwriter Alejandro Rose-Garcia. 👨‍🎤

Swipe to hear some interview audio with Shakey Graves. He discussed his relationship with a song 🎵 by Ted Hawkins. "Sorry You're Sick" was recorded decades ago, but the algorithm and streaming playlists have helped people rediscover this hidden gem. Keep your ears tuned to to hear a radio spot from this same interview. 📻

There’s also a Curbside vendor reflection from Alwyn in this post, too. Both Alejandro and Alwyn focused on tracks that spark joy — a reminder that music can be a powerful force no matter your station in life. You can catch Shakey Graves and Wes Parker around 8 p.m. Thursday at . 💓 Can't make it? Mr. Graves returns to Oklahoma on Nov. 2 for a gig at The Jones Assembly.

New month! New magazine! 📘 The June 2026 issue of Curbside just hit the streets 🏘️ of Oklahoma City. This edition focuses on the results of the 2026 Point in Time Count. If you’re unfamiliar with the PIT Count, then think of it as a census 🔢 for the number of people experiencing homelessness.

It’s meant to provide a snapshot 📸 of who’s living on the streets or in shelters. Understanding the scope of an issue is extremely important in understanding how to solve it. That’s why we dedicated so much of the issue to this subject.

We also focus on ending homelessness. Four recently-housed 🏡 vendors invited us inside their homes to talk about how big of a difference their new homes mean to them. One vendor, Geovany, had this to say about: “It’s a fresh start — my chance at living life and not just surviving. ... This is where I feel safe.” 💖

Want to pick up the new issue? Byron often sells Curbside near NW 122nd Street + Lake Hefner Parkway. You can always find the current issue at Curbside Flowers, too. 💐 Thank you for your support in helping end homelessness in OKC. 💚

We love 💕 public art because anyone can enjoy it — no matter their station in life. With that in mind, we took a road trip 🛣️ to Claremore to check out the progress at the 2026 rendition of Sunny Dayz Mural Fest. ☀️

The annual celebration uplifts "underrepresented artists 👩‍🎨 with an emphasis on women and gender minorities through the creation and advocacy of public art." 🖼️

Last year, the event was hosted in Calle Dos Cinco in SW OKC. This year, muralists will be working all week in the Lilac District in Claremore.

Our supportive employment program Curbside Apparel printed a lot of the awesome merch 👚👕 you can find at the festival. The big public celebration isn't until Saturday, May 30 from noon to 8 p.m. So, there's plenty of time to prepare, but don't miss this incredible collection of talent. ✨

We had an AWESOME visit from our friends at ! ❤️🎉Their team stopped by our flower shop and got to meet some of our Curbside vendors and presented us with a $200,000 donation to support Curbside as we launch as an independent nonprofit!

More than 150 volunteers joined the City of Oklahoma City to count people experiencing homelessness in January. The Point in Time Count happens annually in OKC to help get a grasp on the scope of homelessness. It’s a one-day snapshot of people experiencing homelessness that helps the city receive federal funding for homelessness programs. Volunteers rose before the sun on Jan. 23 to venture into encampments, creek beds, underpasses and alleys to survey people sleeping outside.

The results from the count were shared Thursday afternoon at the Yale Theater during the city’s State of Homelessness event. The latest total is 1,867 individuals. Click to see more highlights from the latest PIT Count.

You can also read more about the PIT Count in our upcoming June issue and check out the full report. The link is in the comments.

New month! New magazine! The May 2026 issue of Curbside just hit the streets of Oklahoma City. It’s our second-ever coloring book edition 🖍️ and it celebrates 100 years of the Mother Road. That’s right, Route 66 is celebrating a century of neon signs, greasy diners, filling stations and motel stops. 🚗💙🛣️🗺️💯🚙

We partnered with on this issue and every page is filled with her original designs that are all inspired by the people and places that make the road special — everything from the Milk Bottle Building 🐮 in Oklahoma City to the Blue Whale 🐳 of Catoosa. Thanks to Oklahoma Route 66 Association for helping us highlight the best the highway has to offer.

Fun fact: Every issue has a free admission pass inside, too! 🎟️ Take a friend to Wi******er Drive-In Theatre on us. The offer is good until the end of the drive-in season this fall so soak up a fun film this summer. 📽️🚘 🍿

Want to pick up the new issue? Shawn often sells Curbside near NW 39th Street + N Pennsylvania Avenue. You can always find the current issue at Curbside Flowers, too. Thank you for your support in helping end homelessness in OKC.

🪩 Mamma Mia, it’s almost Mother’s Day! 🪩

From moms to stepmoms to grandmas to mother figures, motherhood shows up in so many ways. This year, we’re saying “thank you for the music” with flowers. 🎶 Our Mamma Mia-inspired floral collection is bright, joyful, and made to celebrate the Super Trouper women who do it all. 💪✨

All arrangements are made by Curbside vendors using fresh flowers and greenery. 💐 Proceeds from sales support employment and training opportunities for people transitioning out of homelessness in OKC.

Supplies are limited. We can only guarantee flowers for those who pre-order online by Wednesday, May 6 at CurbsideFlowers.com. We have delivery and pickup options.
