The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center supports families on the southeast side of Oklahoma City by being a great place for elementary kids to grow academically, physically, and spiritually!

⚛ STEAM on Tuesdays ⚛
Tuesdays are our STEAM-focused program days! We have fun but learn all about science, technology, engineering, arts (or agriculture) and math!

Yesterday, we learned about gravity, drag, and air in relation to balls on a parachute. We made hypotheses (educated guesses) as to which ball would fly the highest. We then tested our hypotheses.

We learned that air keeps the balls up, gravity and drag bring them back to earth. Mass is the weight of the ball and how high the ball goes and how fast it comes back down depends on its mass. 🤓😎

Courage and bravery mean taking the next step even if you're scared.

Hours are M-F, 1 pm - 6 pm and those will increase during the school breaks.
