This past weekend, Pearl’s Hope hosted a fun-filled Back-to-School Bash for our moms and children! Every child received a backpack filled with school supplies to help them start the new school year prepared and excited. The celebration included a fire truck, face painting, a bounce house, and plenty of delicious burgers and hot dogs. It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter, and quality time together as we celebrated our children and wished them a successful school year!

We were excited to host R.O.O.T.S. at our FEW campus in Tulsa last Friday. This is a gathering of multiple organizations in the North Tulsa area are coming together to establish common ground and open doorways of connection to make further impacton the families we love and serve.

Meet Kaitlin Chaffin, a dedicated Parent to Parent mentor who has been serving families since May 2025!

Since joining the program, Kaitlin has walked alongside parents as they navigate their case plans, offering encouragement, guidance, and hope throughout their journey. One of the most rewarding moments of her mentoring experience has been seeing parents successfully reunify with their children, a testament to the power of support, perseverance, and positive change.

When asked what she enjoys most about being a mentor, Kaitlin shared:
"What I enjoy most about being a mentor is that I have the privilege to help women learn, grow, build, and thrive in a situation that seems impossible to find hope in."

Kaitlin was inspired to become a mentor because she wanted to use her own lived experience to make a difference in the lives of others.
"I wanted to find purpose in my own lived experience to help others. Getting to share my story so other women know that positive change is possible no matter what we go through, as long as we put the work in and trust in God."

Thank you, Kaitlin, for your dedication, compassion, and willingness to use your story to inspire hope and transformation. Your service is helping families build brighter futures every day.

Take a couple minutes of your day to read this story from one of our counselors. We promise it will brighten your day!

A couseling client recently expressed a need for a new A/C in their car. They had been riding without A/C all summer and mentioned how great the kids have been about having to ride in the car with the windows down in this heat, but also mentioned how inconvenient it was to get out even for simple things these days.

The parent had saving up all summer to get it replaced and were hopeful they'd be able to fix it for within their budget of $800. Although she was adament that she had the money to pay for it, it would drain her savings. She agreed to let the counselor put in a Careportal request.

Almost immediately there were responses -- 1 came in the next day for a portion of the amount and 2 responses the day after for small portions of the cost as well.

"I remembered what the parent said," the counselor mentioned, "that anything would be a big help, but that they had worked so hard to save up to cover it themselves. I kept praying the rest of the amount would be covered." Not even a few days later, the same day parent took the vehicle to the shop for the repair, a church stepped up and covered the remaining amount! They called the shop that day, paid the entire amount, and completely relieved this hard working single parent from having to drain their savings.

The lasting impact these small acts of kindness will have on this family's life are immeasurable. We are continually overcome observing storis like this and how God provides for His people.

A dad in one of our Fathers Empowered group approached our Fatherhood Specialist after the session. He said that when he first heard about Fathers Empowered, he didn't want to come to the workshop because he "knew the emotional wounds that it would open up".

Then he said, "I'm so glad I, because he needed this". As he spoke he began to get choked up holding back the tears and gave a simple "thank you" as he walked away.
