Community Fund for Moore Schools

This evening, Board Members of the Community Fund for Moore Schools presented a check in the amount of $13,216, to Supt. Robert Romines and the MPS Board of Education. These funds will be applied toward adding approximately 2,800 LED bulbs at Kelley Elementary. These efforts are to decrease maintenance costs, increase power saving options, and to improve the overall mood in the classroom.

Dr. Elassal shared that this is the first of many worthy projects the organization plans to complete. The Community Fund Board Members are: Dr. Elassal, David Postic, Steve Buchanan, Karrie Freeman, Marcie Falcone, Wade Svetgoff, Senator Darrell Weaver, and Jackson Crum – a combination of parents, patrons, and students.

The “Community Fund” is in the process of fundraising money to buy new LED lights for older Moore schools. Members said once installed, the new lights will save about $8,000 a year per school.
