We took FOUR teams to the world championship in Houston that wrapped up yesterday! It was a fun-filled week where we made new friends from across the globe, met with some of our amazing sponsors, and competed hard on the field. We are extremely proud of all of our teams for their hard work and dedication to make them not only competitive on the field but for making a positive impact on their community. Thank you to all our mentors, parents, sponsors and FIRST volunteers for making it possible. Watch for our Championship Stories series coming up this week!

It’s summer camp sign-up time! The most popular part of our website seems to be people looking for robotics summer camps. This year, our FIRST LEGO League-based “season in a week” camps are returning to Edmond Parks & Recreation! In addition to that, we’ve added a brand new camp series for 7-9 graders featuring larger FIRST Tech Challenge robots at the Oklahoma County OSU Extension (with Oklahoma County 4-H)! One of our teams was on the news this morning! Go Awesome Possums!

An Oklahoma City robotics team is raising money to compete on the global stage after qualifying for an international championship later this month.

The team, known as the Awesome Possums, is part of the FIRST Tech Challenge, a robotics competition for middle and high school students.

The group includes students in grades seven through nine who design, build and program robots to compete in regional and state events.

Their performance this season earned them a spot at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, which begins April 28.
