Today was outreach day! Outfitted with canopies, lemonade, cold water and other iced down drinks, we served shredded chicken bacon and ranch sandwiches, corn salad, chips and cookies to 115 of our unhoused friends.

Thank you to Hope & a Prayer for setting up and handling the clothes and shoes for our friends and Judy from Freedom City for providing the snacks, cereal and milk- the cereal was a hit today!

This heat can be fatal- so please hand off ice and water when you see our friends. That hydration can be the difference in life and death in this Oklahoma heat.

While I do understand them wanting to clean up public spaces, why do they keep running folks off without providing a place for them to go?! Please understand we wish we could do more, because this isn’t fair. But we will continue to meet our friends where they’re at, filling bellies and checking on their wellbeing. I really need Oklahoma to do better by our unhoused friends!

A HUGE shout out to our sweet friend Mrs Judy with Freedom City! When she realized she wouldn’t be here for outreach Saturday, she personally delivered all her snack and milk contributions to us today! She’s been an amazing addition to our little outreach family! Thank you again!

Today was a good day! We served turkey and cheese hoagies, pasta salad, chips and ice cold lemonade and punch to 94 of our unhoused friends. Shout out to my sweet friend Judy with Freedom City Inc for all the snacks and overabundance of shelf stable milk, and Hope & a Prayer for setting up with the clothes, shoes and essentials for our friends! A huge thank you to Bimbo Bakeries USA for the hoagie rolls for our sandwiches!

You guys have no idea how much this means to us to be able to show up for our friends every month!

Let me tell yall about my friend Auggie that runs Bagz of Luv Inc.! Not only did she get this massive dog food donation, she reached out with no hesitation to let me know she was sending some of it out way as well. There’s no competition here, just collaboration. We do the same thing, just in different parts of the city! Thank you for aiding us in helping our unhoused friends feed their furry friends! 💗

Today they blessed us once again, and we are beyond grateful for their generosity, friendship, and unwavering support.

You have been riding alongside Bagz of Luv since day one, and I truly don’t have the words to express how much that means. Because of your kindness, we’ve been able to feed and care for countless fur babies right alongside the people we serve. There is simply no way we could have reached as many pets in need without your partnership.

The impact the Pet Food Pantry of Oklahoma City makes in our community is incredible. Each year they provide more than 73,468 pounds of pet food and supplies to families in need across the Oklahoma City area.

In a single year, they also:
🐶 Served 1,633 families
🐱 Helped keep 4,898 pets in loving homes with the people who care for them.

That’s an average of:
❤️ 6,120 pounds of pet food and supplies every month.
❤️ 201 pounds of pet food and supplies every single day.

Their ministry serves low-income seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and survivors of domestic violence by providing free pet food and essential pet supplies. Their mission helps keep beloved pets with their families instead of being surrendered because of financial hardship.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our mission, for always showing up, and for being such faithful partners. We love and appreciate each and every one of you more than you’ll ever know.

It seems that it’s becoming easier and easier to be mean, rude and unnecessarily harsh to folks when you don’t even understand their circumstances. Just because you aren’t experiencing it personally, does not mean it doesn’t matter. These folks have had their voices silenced, so it’s up to us to speak up for them and make sure they’re still being treated with kindness and dignity. This doesn’t just apply to our friends that are experiencing homelessness. Make it your mission to speak up when it comes to injustices. We are all humans, so be kind. Your smile and kind words could be the ONE THING they need to see to know they aren’t alone in the world.

We ushered in summer with cold drinks and hot food for 68 of our closest friends yesterday! Hope & a Prayer came fully stocked with clothes, shoes and all the needs of our friends!

Our 3rd Saturday is almost like a reunion- we get to see each other, check on our friends and catch up with some of our folks that we have seen so much over the years. It’s almost like a tiny block party once a month! If you ever want to join in the fun, let us know!
