Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends, and the entire dog community as we mourn the loss of Nicki King.

Nicki’s friendship, kindness, and dedication touched the lives of so many. She was more than a familiar face at dog shows—she was someone who brought warmth, encouragement, and genuine friendship to our community. The friendships she built and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The dog world has lost one of its own, and she will be deeply missed by exhibitors, breeders, judges, and friends alike.
Rest in peace, Nicki. Your legacy of friendship and your love for our sport will never be forgotten.

As we reflect on yesterday, our hearts are heavy for so many fellow Oklahomans—and for everyone across our country affected by the devastating storms.
While many families celebrated the Fourth of July, others spent the day and night taking shelter from dangerous weather. Communities like Bartlesville, Dewey, Copan, Ramona, Ochelata, and many others across northeast Oklahoma were impacted before the fireworks even began. Later, severe storms swept through the Oklahoma City metro and other parts of the state, bringing more damage and uncertainty.
Today, many families are still without electricity. Homes and businesses have been damaged, and some local businesses remain closed as owners begin the difficult task of cleaning up and rebuilding.
Our thoughts are with every family facing loss, every business owner trying to recover, every first responder, utility worker, and volunteer working tirelessly, and every neighbor lending a helping hand.
If you’re able, please check on those around you and support local businesses as they reopen. Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference.

Oklahoma has always been more than a place on a map—it’s a family. We love this state, we love our communities, and we love the people who call it home. No matter how difficult the road ahead may be, Oklahomans have always stood together, and together we will get through this. ❤️

🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 Happy 250th Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

On this very special Independence Day, as America celebrates 250 years of freedom, all of us with the Oklahoma Summer Classic simply want to say…thank you.

Thank you to the brave men and women, past and present, who have served our country and made the freedoms we enjoy today possible. Their courage, sacrifice, and love for this nation have given all of us the opportunity to gather, compete, laugh, learn, and build friendships through a sport that means so much to each of us.

The Oklahoma Summer Classic has never been just a dog show. It is a family reunion. It is hugs in the grooming area, conversations ringside, cheering for one another’s successes, helping a friend when they need an extra hand, and welcoming new faces into our community. It is watching juniors grow into accomplished adults, celebrating lifelong breeders, and sharing our love for purebred dogs with the next generation.

To every exhibitor, judge, superintendent, volunteer, club member, vendor, sponsor, spectator, and friend who has walked through our doors—you have become part of our family. We are grateful beyond words for the memories we’ve shared and for the friendships that continue to grow year after year.

As you celebrate today, we hope your hearts are full, your tables are surrounded by those you love, and your dogs are safely tucked inside while the fireworks fill the sky. Give them an extra hug tonight—they’re family too.

As we look toward the future, we are already excited for the 2027 Oklahoma Summer Classic. We cannot wait to welcome old friends back home and meet new ones as we create another unforgettable week celebrating our incredible sport, our remarkable dogs, and the people who make it all worthwhile.

From our family to yours, thank you for believing in the Oklahoma Summer Classic and for helping make it something truly special. We are honored to share this journey with you.
