Do you have a hidden phone? Beware of the national alert tomorrow

If you're in an unsafe domestic situation and have a hidden secondary phone:

Wednesday, October 4th, FEMA is conducting a national test for emergency alerts. Your phone will get the alert anywhere from 2:20 pm (Eastern time) to 2:50 pm.

The sudden noise of this alert could disclose the location of your hidden device, so it's best to power it completely down during that time.

Mark your calendars! The next election is on April 4th and it's WAY more important than you think. Every voter in Oklahoma County has a chance to elect a County Clerk, and your vote REALLY matters. Turnout in the primary was only 9%, so this race could come down to just a few hundred people who decide to show up.

In addition to the county-wide race, voters in many cities & towns will also be electing their mayor and/or city council members and there are also a bunch of school board seats up for election. If you live ANYWHERE in Oklahoma County, you are eligible to vote on April 4th for one or more positions, and WE NEED YOUR VOTE.

Put it on your calendar and tell your friends!

A "rare disease" is defined as a condition that affects fewer than 200,000 people in the U.S. Despite the fact that many rare diseases go undiagnosed and no cure exists for a majority of rare diseases, progress is being made to ensure that all people are receiving the treatment and support needed to reach optimal health.

Finding funding for your pollinator garden can be a challenge. Fortunately, there are plenty of resources to help you get growing! The Metropolitan Library System’s 'Metro Grows' program lends tools to residents free of charge, in addition to hosting informative workshops for gardeners of all experience levels. Purchasing plants can be pricey, too! The Oklahoma County Conservation District is providing grants up to $500 toward native plants for individuals and organizations with pollinator projects through their ‘Sowing Seeds of Stewardship’ program, and applications are due THIS FRIDAY, March 10.

HB 2177, which bans gender-affirming care, is a violation of the rights of parents, patients, and medical professionals. It is weaponizing the law to attack marginalized people and is the result of theocrats legislating their religious morality. It was passed 80-18.
