The next SFA chapter 32-50 meeting will take place a American Legion Post #12, 6101 NW 50th, Warr Acres, OK on 10 July, 2021. The social gathering may begin at 1100 hours. The chapter meeting will begin at 1300 hours. For those who wish to participate in the 5050 raffle, please bring small bills, as change is not readily available for large bills.

We've been to Post 12 on various previous occasions. It is on the north side of NW 50th Street. Hope to see everyone.

The next chapter 32-50 meeting will take place at the Marlow Event Center, 902 W. Caddo in Marlow OK on 12 June 2021, courtesy of Butch and Bonnie Graham. A social hour will begin at 1100 hours. Luncheon will be at 1200 hours, followed by a brief meeting at 1300 hours. This has become an annual event and is not to be missed! The drive is well worth it. Frank Rickard has both a picture and directions on the chapter website sfa32.org . Click on "area of operation."

Those who wish to participate in the 50-50 drawing, please bring small bills as change is not easily made for large bills, especially at the outset. $5.00 buys six tickets.

All,
Fort Sill will be hosting the monthly historic artillery demonstrations at the FA Museum, 238 Randolph Road on Sat 8 May at 1000, 1100 and 1200. We will be demonstrating Civil War era artillery and ammunition.
This event is free and open to the public.

As noted in yesterday's message, the chapter will meet on the second Saturday in May (8 May) at American Legion Post #12 (6101 NW 50th Street, Warr Acres OK.)

Frank has done his usual thorough job with a color photo of the building, directions from several different approaches and maps.

Go to the website, then go down to "area of operations" and click. The photo, maps and directions will appear. The website is worth one's time also for its other features.

Oklahoma City VA Health Care System announces widespread availability of the Single-dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) Covid-19 vaccine


WHAT: Janssen / Johnson & Johnson Single Dose COVID-19 Vaccine Kick Off Walk-in Event
WHEN: Saturday, April 10th from 8am – 4pm

WHERE: Oklahoma City VA Medical Center, Health Wing, Ground Floor, North Entrance

WHO: Veterans, Veteran spouses and caregivers are able to get the single dose COVID-19 vaccine


BACKGROUND:

Veterans that have been waiting for the one-shot Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) Covid-19 vaccine now have the opportunity to get vaccinated.

The Oklahoma City VA Health Care System will be holding a Janssen / Johnson & Johnson Single Dose COVID-19 Vaccine Kick Off Walk-in Event on Saturday April 10 from 8 AM to 4 PM at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.

The Oklahoma City VA Health Care System is excited to announce several VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) will now have widespread availability of the single-dose Janssen Covid-19 vaccine starting April 12.

Veterans can call 405-456-7119 option 2 to schedule their one-shot Janssen Covid-19 vaccine at one of the several CBOCs with availability of the vaccine.

These CBOCs currently include Wichita Falls in Texas, Lawton, South Oklahoma City, Yukon, and Stillwater. Veterans do not have to have their Primary care enrolled at these CBOCs to schedule their appointment at these locations.

At the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center, Veterans have the option of either calling 405-456-7119 option 2 to schedule an appointment OR Veterans can walk-in Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 4 PM to receive the one-shot Janssen Covid-19 vaccine.

If Veterans prefer to receive one of the two-dose vaccinations, they can still opt for either the Moderna vaccine at the Lawton CBOC or Veterans can schedule or walk-in for a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center Monday through Friday.

With the Presidential signing of the Save Lives Act, spouses, and caregivers of enrolled veterans, are now welcome to receive vaccination through walk-in at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center.
