We had the best morning cheering on Kensli as she delivered her YLC speech, “A Crowded Table,” to the Northwestern Electric Cooperative board!

As part of the Youth Leadership Council process, each finalist presents their speech to their home co-op’s board and records it for the chance to become the next spokesperson at PowerXchange. Kensli absolutely knocked it out of the park today—confident, genuine, and representing NWEC beautifully.

Way to go, Kensli! We’re so proud of you! 👏🏼💚

What an incredible week it’s been for Kensli Shaffer, our Youth Leadership Council (YLC) delegate representing Northwestern Electric Cooperative

After a week full of learning, connecting, and growing in Washington, D.C., Kensli is headed home today. Alongside 44 other outstanding students from across the country, she explored the importance of policy, leadership, and collaboration and how each plays a vital role in shaping rural communities like ours.

We are so proud of Kensli and the way she represented Oklahoma and Northwestern Electric with excellence. We know this is just the beginning of her leadership journey!

10 rockstar chaperones
80,000 steps (yes, really!)
Monuments, memorials, museums…
Baseball under the lights, a multi-state boat cruise, and a night tour we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. We’re heading home tired, inspired, and forever changed.
