Looking forward to Tuesday, February 10th. Members of the Metro OKC Chapter of Ryan’s Case for Smiles will be sharing lunch with the Seniors Group at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond. We will be sharing with them the details of our pillowcase ministry. There will be a slide show representing sewing day and lots of information about the founding family and growth of our organization will be shared. Colorful pillowcases will be displayed and we will explain our motto, “Helping Kids Feel Better To Heal Better”. Fun times!

The Metro OKC Chapter is kind of like the USPS . Since its inception in 2008 not a single monthly delivery has been missed. During Covid a handful of hearty souls met at a neighbourhood clubhouse to complete our mission. When serious winter weather is anticipated we get busy. Home sewers can provide a helping hand and, somehow, our quota appears. I’m so proud of our volunteers as I’m sure other chapters are. Our dedication to OU Childrens Hospital is unwavering. We love Ryan’s Case for Smiles!!

If 2026 is as good for the Metro OKC Chapter as 2025 has been it’s going to be dynamite!! We added some awesome new volunteers to join the already fantastic group we had. We increased our visibility in the community due to some great publicity. Home sewers have multiplied and, thanks to our drop off location at the Holiday Inn Express Quail Springs, we have found a convenient way to add to our monthly inventory. St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Edmond has invested heavily in our pillowcase ministry, providing great space for sewing, storage and enjoying a potluck lunch on sewing day. In the coming months we will provide our 70,000th pillowcase to OU Childrens Hospital and we have no intention of slowing down!

We’ve just reached 300 followers! Thank you for continuing support. We could never have made it without each one of you. Being a self funded nonprofit works when you’ve got the best group of volunteers, home sewers and supporters - and we do! We love our pillowcase ministry! 🤗🎉

This little fellow was just admitted for the very first time, and I guess you could say he really loves his pillowcase. His mom says he takes it everywhere, like Linus and his blanket. Such creativity and a wonderful smile. Let's just hope he doesn't load the pillowcase up with all the toys and try to play Santa! (and you wonder why all our volunteers do what we do...)

What an amazing couple of Saturdays our Ryan's Case for Smiles Chapter had at local craft fairs. We received a total of $1100 in $5 donations. We bring a multitude of pillowcases for people to see, and for a $5 donation (our target cost for supplies to make the pilowcases, one of the lowest in all the chapters because we really know how to pinch pennies) they can fill out a "Feel Better Wishes" form that we will slip into the pillowcase package that they select. That is a whole lot of pillowcases that families will receive with notes from complete strangers hoping the child will begin to feel better so...and it does the heart good to know that the families are not alone, that someone else is caring about them. And on the subject of donations, we always welcome 100% cotton fabric in kid-friendly prints, thread, workers, and money. Tuesday, December 3 is the National Tuesday of Giving, an ideal time to give to your favorite charities. If you would like help us bring more and more SMILES to the kids, you can go to the caseforsmiles.org website, click on donate, and then fill out the information for a donation designated specifically for our Metro OKC Chapter. Gina and Debbie and Paula and Gayle, and all the rest of our volunteers will be overjoyed that you care about the kids at Oklahoma Children's Hospital as much as we do.

Wyatt received one of our pillowcases when he was 5 years old. He attended the Los Angeles County fair and sewed a pillowcase to pay it forward.
