PTSD: Myth vs. Fact
Myth: PTSD means you're broken.
Fact: PTSD is a normal response to abnormal exposure, the kind first responders face on repeat.

Swipe to separate the myths from the facts. Knowing the truth is the first step to getting the right help. You don't have to figure it out alone. Warrior's Rest peer support is confidential, judgment-free, and led by first responders who get it.

June is PTSD Awareness Month and for the first responders that carry calls most people will never see, we’re here for you. Carrying them alone was never the assignment.
The bravest thing a warrior can do is talk about it. Healing begins in courageous conversations and with a peer who’s been where you’ve been, who gets it without explanation, and who won’t judge you for being human.
If today’s the day you start that conversation, we’re here. Confidential. No pressure. Led by first responders, for first responders.

As May begins to wind down, let this be your reminder:
Mental health awareness isn’t a 31-day campaign — it’s a daily commitment to check in, speak up, and stand beside each other.

Behind the uniforms, smiles, and “I’m okay” are people carrying battles nobody sees.

Check on your people.
Start the conversation.
Keep showing up for one another.

Because awareness should last longer than a month.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of our freedom, and their legacy lives on through the lives they protected.

This Memorial Day, we stand in gratitude, reflection, and remembrance. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Over the past 48 hours, the Warriors Rest Foundation had the honor of training more than 50 first responders in Springfield and Kansas City through our Breaking the Silence: Saving Lives: Understanding First Responder Su***de classes.

Thanks to funding support through the Missouri Department of Public Safety these responders received critical training in su***de prevention, intervention, and postvention equipping them with tools to better support themselves, their peers, and their communities.

These conversations are hard, but they are necessary. Every life matters, and together we are working to break the silence surrounding mental health in the first responder community.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve those who serve others.
