CISM IS NOT THERAPY.

That's worth saying clearly.

Crisis intervention is designed to provide immediate support following a crisis or critical incident—more like emotional first aid than long-term treatment.

The goal isn't to turn cops, firefighters, medics or dispatchers into therapists.

It's to give first responders better tools to support their peers, recognize when someone may need more help and understand what appropriate follow-up can look like.

That's what we're teaching in Kansas City November 2–5.
