💤 Nothing but baby for every sleep.

A firm, flat mattress in a crib, bassinet, or pack and play is the safest place for babies to sleep. Keep the sleep space free of blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and other items.

Creating a clear sleep space helps keep babies safe during naps and nighttime sleep. ❤️

For more safe sleep tips and resources, visit Michigan's Safe Sleep resources and talk with your healthcare provider or home visitor. ❤️

National Head Start Association

The deadline to submit a comment on the Head Start Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), “Reducing Federal Burden for Head Start Programs,” is tomorrow, October 6, 2026.

This is an opportunity for the Head Start community to make its voice heard and help inform the federal rulemaking process. Programs, staff, parents, caregivers, alumni, and partners can share their perspectives on the proposed changes, including what they support, what raises concerns, and what they want federal decision-makers to consider as they determine what comes next for Head Start.

October is Infant Safe Sleep Month! 💜

Every sleep matters. To help keep babies safe, always place your baby on their back for naps and nighttime sleep. Following safe sleep guidelines can help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths and create the safest sleep environment for babies ages 0-12 months.

Learn more about safe sleep recommendations and help spread the word this month. 💤👶

HEY we know them!!

Yesterday we were on Capitol Hill as part of the National Home Visiting Summit, meeting with congressional offices to share what home visiting means for children and families.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring stories from the Healthy Families America network into these conversations and highlight the importance of continued investment in MIECHV. It was also wonderful to connect with our partners at Parents as Teachers while on the Hill.
