Today, we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and marks an important milestone in our nation's history.
Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all. It is also an opportunity to honor the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans who have helped shape our communities, parks, and public spaces.
As parks and recreation professionals, we are committed to fostering welcoming and inclusive spaces where everyone can connect, belong, and thrive.
Happy Juneteenth. β€οΈπ€π
