Thank You for Showing Up and Supporting Michigan Harness Racing!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our MHHA members and supporters who came out to the State Capitol today to show their support during the Senate Regulatory Affairs Committee hearing on House Bills 4346 and 4347!

We extend our sincere appreciation to the members of the Senate Regulatory Affairs Committee for hearing our testimony and to Representatives Angela Witwer and Tom Kunse for sponsoring this important legislation.

A special thank you to MHHA member and former State Representative Gary Randall, the original sponsor of the Horse Racing Act of 1995, for sharing his testimony and valuable perspective on the importance of Michigan's horse racing industry.

Your presence and support make a difference! We are grateful to everyone who continues to stand together and advocate for the future of harness racing in Michigan.

💰 PAC Fund: More than $2,000 was raised yesterday! Thank you to everyone who contributed. Your continued support is critical as we work to move our legislation across the finish line.

🏛️ Legislative Update: We're hopeful that updated bill language will be available today, with a potential committee hearing next Thursday. Stay tuned!

🐎 Sire Stakes Nominations: If you purchased a horse yesterday, be sure to visit the MHHA website and verify that your 2025 foal has been nominated to the Michigan Sire Stakes. If not, there is still time to make a late nomination payment! https://www.mhha.com/Program-Eligible-Horses

🏛️ Positive Update from Lansing!

A great day at the Capitol with legislators, the Governor’s office, the Michigan Department of Agriculture, and the Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions all at the table working through solutions for House Bills 4346 & 4347.

There’s still work ahead, but today brought productive conversations, great ideas, and positive momentum. We’re hopeful for a committee hearing soon!
