In 2025, we were one part of the more than $131 million Delta Dental invested in oral health philanthropy across the nation. We're looking to build our Centers for Inclusive Dentistry (CID) network of nonprofit public health dental clinics in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Clinics that complete this program help increase access to dental care for people with disabilities. As a CID, all dental staff undergo free, immersive training and join a learning community to collaborate and share best practices. Learn more at the link below.

"The thing that sets us apart is that we pay our students to learn," says Dr. Isaac Zeckel, dental director at HealthLinc Community Health Center. To meet a growing demand for dental assistants, HealthLinc launched a four-month paid training program that makes it easier for people to start a lucrative new profession while earning an income. So far, the program is making a difference: 12 new dental assistants have completed the program, enabling HealthLinc dentists to serve more patients and improve access to care. "We see patients every day who face a lot of obstacles in order to receive the care that they need. It's very important to be part of the solution," says Dr. Lisenia Collazo, dental director at Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center. To strengthen these skills, Dr. Collazo joined NNOHA - National Network for Oral Health Access's Oral Health Leadership Institute.
