CPPH staff, Cheribeth and Karie enjoyed learning from families at the Detroit Public Schools Community District’s 2026 Harvest Festival on October 3! This data collection experience was a great kickoff for the work CPPH will be doing to gather resident input for a Detroit food waste reduction policy that Make Food Not Waste is developing over the coming 9 months.

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an approach to support children, adolescents, adults, and families following traumatic events or disasters. It is not clinical therapy and instead focuses on providing practical assistance, emotional comfort, and connection to resources. Michigan has established a network of PFA trainers who will deliver PFA training throughout their communities, strengthening behavioral health preparedness and disaster response.
