Okeechobee County Public Safety Leadership Cadets

We were created to provide our youth an opportunity to experience Public Safety within Okeechobee. Cari Arnold's badge number. Sgt.

The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office Public Safety Leadership Cadet Program Unit #3020 was created to provide the Okeechobee County Youth a safe environment to learn from the Public Safety Leaders in our community. Unit #3020 is personal to Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office as #302 is the late Sgt. Arnold, through her selfless actions in the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office became the Communi

ty Leader for our youth that we strive for each day in service to our community. Leadership Cadets interact with Deputy Sheriffs, Correction Deputies, Dispatchers and Fire Rescue Personnel. Leadership Cadets will travel, learn about future careers in Public Safety, serve Okeechobee County with pride, gain skills and practical experience through education and training delivered by Public Safety mentors. Leadership Cadets will build confidence, strong character, physical fitness and respect for their fellow community members. Interested applicants shall be between the ages of 14-17 with special considerations for youth up to the age of 20. Applicants must be of good moral character, be enrolled in an educational institution (Public/Private/homeschool), have a minimum GPA of 2.0

On Tuesday, October 8th from 8am till noon, Okeechobee County Cadets will be assisting those wishing to pick up sandbags at the Public Works Department Compound (804 NW 2nd Street).

On October 5th and 6th, we will be conducting parking assistance at the Ag Center for our citizens wishing to attend. It will be a great event and plan to purchase your tickets prior to avoid the rush!!

When one is lost, it is felt throughout our agencies. Our patches may be different, but we are all brothers and sisters. We pray for comfort for Lake County Sheriff’s Office as they continue forward through these difficult days.

We are deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss the Lake County Sheriff's Office - Florida is experiencing and pray for those still recovering. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of these brave officers.
