Okanogan County Community Action Council OCCAC aims to lead a revolt on poverty through education, empowerment and engagement.

Emergency services include rental assistance, emergency shelter, and energy and utility assistance. Weatherization services include weatherization through broken glass replacement and insulation installation, home improvement programs such as new roofs or electrical systems, and fee-based assessment services. Food assistance is also available through one of the nine food pantries OCCAC helps to manage.

Do you have extra produce in your garden, orchard, or farm this season? Don't let it go to waste!

The Okanogan County Gleaning Program connects local growers with volunteers who harvest surplus fruits and vegetables and deliver them to food banks, meal programs, and families in need throughout Okanogan County.

🌽 Strengthen our community

Our trained volunteers make the process easy by coordinating harvests and ensuring fresh, healthy food reaches those who need it most.

We glean a variety of crops including apples, pears, stone fruits, potatoes, carrots, onions, squash, melons, pumpkins, and more!

Fall is one of our busiest and most rewarding seasons, and we'd love to have you join us! Whether you're passionate about gardening, helping prepare food for local families, or gleaning fresh apples that might otherwise go to waste, there's a place for you.

Together, we're growing food, building community, and nourishing tomorrow. No experience is needed, and all are welcome!

Join the Okanogan County Community Action Council Food & Nutrition Program as we prepare Freezer Apple Pie Filling for distribution through The Okanogan Pantry during the holiday season.

We need volunteers to:

Slice apples
Pack freezer bags
Help support local families

No experience necessary. Come for an hour or stay for the whole event!
