Do you have a dog or cat that hasn’t been spayed or neutered? Okanogan Regional Humane provides free spay and neuter services to low income families in Okanogan County. Animals also receive vaccines, nail trims and microchips. If you are able to donate, we do have suggested donations which help us “Pay It Forward” and continue providing these services to other families and pets in need. Please contact us at (509) 422-9960 to schedule an appointment. We currently have a waiting list, but can usually accommodate cats within 2 months and dogs within 4 months.

Okanogan Regional Humane is proud to announce a major milestone: 10,000 spay and neuter surgeries performed!

Reducing the number of unwanted litters helps reduce the burden on overcrowded shelters and rescues, and helps more animals find safe, loving homes.

Thank you so much to our wonderful staff, veterinary partners, volunteers, donors and community members who have made this milestone possible!

ORH is a registered 501c3 non-profit funded entirely by donations. Our services are provided free of charge for low-income residents of Okanogan County and neighboring areas without access to other resources.

MEET WINONA

Winona is ready to leave the past in the past and move forward with her new forever family. Winona was brought into our care as part of a hoarding situation last September. She has seen all of her friends come and go to their new families and is ready for her turn.

Miss Winona is sweet as can be but can be standoffish with new people. She loves to play especially if it involves water or a laser. She is the most curious of the bunch, always watching the staff from her hammock to see if they have any treats or toys. She isn't too big on being picked up quite yet but she loves attention as long as you don't overwhelm her and loves to take treats out of your hand. Winona can be very protective over her little group but is the most apt to go towards human attention.

Winona is everything you could want in a couch companion. She is treat focused, toy-loving, and loyal to a fault. She is a little weary of strangers at first but once she knows you bring treats she wont leave you alone.

A few of our recent small‑breed dogs have found their perfect families:

✨ Tilly #1 — living her best life in Tacoma
✨ Charlie — whose new mom told us, “Thank you for connecting me to this lovely thing.”

If you love scruffy, tiny, under‑10‑lb rescue dogs, now is the time to follow our page. We have more coming soon, thanks to our wonderful fosters, local grooming and rescue partners, and transport volunteers.

We have had lots of calls recently for vaccination appointments for pets that are already spayed and neutered. In an effort to help a larger part of our community, we are gathering information on the need for cost-effective and available vaccine appointments in our service areas. If you or someone you know needs a pet vaccinated please fill out the attached form and let us know how we can help. We would love to hear your feedback!

We are going to try to help as many people as possible but at the moment we are compiling the list to see the level of demand in our area. We are also only doing dog vaccinations at this time, but may add cat appointments in the future.

Hi! We are in the process of setting up a vaccine wait list to make sure we can provide vaccines to as many pets as possible. At the moment we are only providing services to dogs. In addition, we can only accomodate 4 dogs per appointment at a time. If you have more than 4 pets please list them all....

Once again Spring has brought an onslaught of new kittens and puppies in our region. Shelters, rescues and fosters are overwhelmed trying to meet the needs of our communities with limited space and resources. Communities of stray and unowned cats continue to grow when unfixed cats are abandoned outside. Okanogan Regional Humane offers free or low-cost spay and neuter services to low income families and community cats. These services are offered through the generous donations of our supporters. If you have unspayed or unneutered animals, please call and get on our waiting list or take your animals to The Big Fix organized by Team Okanogan Animal Rescue. If you are able to support our mission of helping solve the overpopulation problem, donations can be made by mail, by scanning the barcode or by following the link below.
