The top 13 photos will be featured in our 2027 calendar distributed county wide and featured on Okanogan CD's social media channels as our photo of the month. We're looking for year-round photos that relate to each month of the year.

Last week we had our first Harvest of the Month, bringing local produce into the classroom at Oroville School District #410 - Oroville Washington. Cucumber from Willowbrook Farms in Carlton was the star, with a lunch time taste test and cooking classes.

In collaboration with Classroom in Bloom, we led lessons for all of kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and life skills classes. Students filled ‘cucumber boats’ with their choice of ingredients such as hummus, tajín, and cream cheese.

It takes bravery to try something new. For some students this was their first time having cucumber and many left with a new favorite vegetable—it’s hard to beat local produce!
