Hey, fellow rockers and time-travel enthusiasts, Johnny Maverick here! https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556222138952
I'm hosting an ELVIS tribute concert on Saturday, July 20th at After Hours. It's the 70th year anniversary of the first ever rock and roll song "That's Alright Mama," as believed by many (though contestable.) But it's still good enough for us to throw down a rockin' good time. Here's the event of FB. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556222138952
Hope to see you there, but in the meantime, check out this Elvis story!
It's a story about the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley, through the eyes of someone who’s traveled back to his era. Picture this:
It's the late 1950s, and I've just arrived in Memphis, Tennessee, using my trusty time-traveling guitar. I hear about this young sensation, Elvis Presley, who’s turning the music world upside down. I couldn't resist the chance to see the legend in his prime.
I find myself at Sun Studio, the birthplace of rock 'n' roll, and there he is—Elvis, with his slicked-back hair, swiveling hips, and that unmistakable voice. The energy in the room is electric, a true testament to his magnetism. As Elvis strums his guitar and belts out "Heartbreak Hotel," I’m struck by the raw passion and charisma he exudes.
We strike up a conversation during a break, and he’s every bit as charming and down-to-earth as you’d imagine. Elvis shares stories about his humble beginnings and the influences that shaped his unique sound. We jam together, exchanging riffs and laughs, and for a moment, it feels like the universe has aligned to create pure musical magic.
This encounter not only deepens my admiration for Elvis but also fuels my own passion for music. Every time I step on stage, I channel a bit of that Elvis energy, striving to connect with my audience just like he did.
So here’s to the King, whose spirit lives on in every chord we play and every song we sing. Rock on, everyone! 🎸👑✨
