Kyndra Velay initiated the Sister School Program, linking Mariposa Montessori School in Austin, Texas, with Odiyana School in Ruksin, India. Her dedication and ongoing support have been truly impactful. Two American students subsequently visited Odiyana School, where they taught English and engaged with the students in December 2025.

The Rotary Club of Ojai has funded a generator for the Odiyana Project, ensuring a reliable electricity supply during power outages, particularly in extreme summer temperatures reaching 100 degrees. We extend our gratitude to the Rotary Club of Ojai for their generosity and commitment to their mission.

Rotary's mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders, guided by their motto, Service Above Self. They achieve this by tackling global issues like disease, poverty, and lack of education, empowering diverse members to create lasting change locally and globally.

As part of a sister school initiative, Mariposa students from Texas handed over letters and gifts to Kadin, who will deliver them to Odiyana School in India this month. Students in Texas had crafted these letters and gifts for their Indian counterparts. During their visit, Kadin and Luke will engage with the students and facilitate a letter-writing activity, enabling the students to respond and fostering a cross-cultural exchange program.
