Join The Agora Foundation this Saturday, September 26, from 12:00-1:30PM online as we discuss the first few chapters of Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Braiding Sweetgrass is a profound exploration of human connection to the natural world. As a botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Kimmerer blends Indigenous ecological philosophy with Western scientific knowledge, revealing how plants and animals are our oldest teachers, possessing their own gifts and languages. The Future of Ojai - Our Rising Generation -Are we planning though...

08/28/2026

This Sunday, August 30, 4:30-6:30PM at the Ojai Valley Museum, The Agora Foundation is continuing its free Ojai Chautauqua panel series:

The Future of Ojai - Our Rising Generation
Are we planning thoughtfully for the youth of the valley?

The goal of the project is to bring together knowledgeable and varied points of view in the spirit of learning, shared inquiry, and civil discourse. When we plan for Ojai’s future, how do we directly include the voices of our young people? What are their biggest concerns? What excites and inspires them? What do they most value about living in Ojai and want to protect? What would they like to see changed? Is our current education system preparing them for the current world? These questions and more will be addressed by a panel of local high school students and recent graduates from our public and private schools. We invite you to join us, and bring your questions, as we consider what is most essential for Ojai’s sustainable future.

This panel is free and open to the community. The event will be recorded and seating is limited. www.futureofojai.org See less

Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard thought that human experience is the tension between "the finite and the infinite, the possible and the necessary", and to become a true "self" one must be conscious that the source and ground of this "self" is love.

The Agora Foundation is offering an 8-week online series on The Sickness unto Death by Kierkegaard, taking place Wednesday evenings - October 22 to December 17, 2025
5:30-7:00PM Pacific. Join us as we carefully read and discuss this challenging text, in the spirit of camaraderie, civil discourse, and sincere inquiry. Partial scholarships are available.
