Much of the information within this week's flyer is dedicated to several of the local programs we support- HELP of Ojai, Mesa Farm, League of Women Voters of Ventura County, Community Memorial Healthcare, and Food Share of Ventura County- and our MahJongg Night and Cooking Up Connections speaker event. We are publishing these pages on our page. We would love you to drop by any of these events.

The Ojai Valley Woman’s Club has been making history since 1899, and is still changing lives today. Our women’s club has been serving this community for 127 years, and we aren’t stopping now! OVWC is known for sweeping (then paying high school students to sweep) the dirt roadway and removing trash before we had paved streets and sidewalks; for providing the first gas-lantern lights on Ojai Avenue; for hosting the American Red Cross; for housing female collegiate players in the 1900s for the Ojai Tennis Tournament; and for creating the first “Welcome Wagon” services to new families within the Valley; the first visiting nurse association in the Ojai Valley; and for pursuing the creation of the first Humane Society in Ventura County some 22 years before its founding. Today we are known for our volunteer spirit, for our philanthropy, and our can-do promotion of countless Ojai non-profit and educational institutions. But to keep making a difference, we need you. We are looking for civic-minded women ready to lead, volunteer, and connect. Join us and become part of a “living legacy."
