So tonight we present a interesting ghost story that takes place back in 1890. There is not a lot of information about this particular story because of the circumstances.
This story is from Madison ohio.
In the summer of 1890 two girls walking home saw a very strange woman walking in woods near what is now known as east main st.
What was so odd about this woman?
As the girls got closer they noticed this woman was fading almost like looking at a heavy myst
One of them spoke to the woman and asked ( if she needed help or can we help you ) the woman turned to them and to their shock revealed part of her face, arm, chest and leg were missing... the woman spoke and said in a cold voice, No one can help me and disappeared.
Terrified they ran home and told parents.
Local people began searching the area looking for any clue on what they may have seen.
Nothing was found.
A full year passed, and a local farmer in a carriage passed by something odd in that area..covered by brush, and alot of grass was a body.. apon investigation police determined the woman committed su***de.. for them it was a open & shut case because a gun was found and she had a bullet hole in her skull.
But what was odd was the skull had a bullet hole in the back of the skull not the front or side as in most su***de cases.
The front part of her skull was missing, as was her arm and leg.
The two girls who saw the lady requested them to reopen the case and look at her skull. when a detective finally listened to them the skull and body were determined to be lost from storage.
The case was never resolved.
Here is the very interesting part.
3 years after the body was found
The sheriff was being investigated for murder.
His wife from 4 years ago disappeared never to be seen again
He claimed she left to head west for gold and riches.
All attempts to reach or find her failed.
Her family visited the spot near by for many years believing she was placed there but unfortunately couldn't prove it.
The sheriff retired about 8 years later and every once in awhile people have reported a strange lady walking on the side of the road. And as they approach..she disappears
Who was she? According to locals her name was shelly. But other then a first name no record was ever recorded.
No news paper ever covered the story.
And only her (and the sheriff's family) some locals shared the story.
To this day only a partial story of the history remains.
We investigated this near the area the two girls claimed to witness her ghost...
We got some very strange EVP (with one saying) (My grave is here)
Its a mystery that may never be solved.
But its a interesting part of Northern Ohio history:)
