The Senior Citizens' Center in Oglethorpe was buzzing with activity on May 28 as the OGC brought dirt for those attending to "play in." Each participant chose either a China cup and saucer or a larger coffee mug as a vessel for planting attractive succulent specimens as a take home project.

Bonnie Simmons, Michelle Chase, Fran Dixon, Sylvia Hogg and Marilyn McLendon brought the horticulture workshop to the center and enjoyed a morning with old and new friends.

Wednesday morning was busy at the Butterfly Garden at City Hall in Oglethorpe! The OGC members who could make it brought all their gardening tools, stools and gloves and attacked the weeds. It will take more trips, but they made a difference in 2 hours. As they were packing up, a kind young man named Marcus walked up and volunteered to do the final weed-eating. Oh, his kindness was appreciated!

Our last meeting before summer was held at Chief's Station. This gave plenty of room for member Tricia Welch to share ideas on how to dry flowers and create beauty using them.

The Blue Star Memorial at the park prepared for the celebration of our nations 250th birthday.
