Congratulations to the 2026 Scholarship Winners awarded by the Swe-kat-si Chapter. Winners who received the highest score for the American History Regents exam for their grade at their school were each awarded a $100 scholarship.

250 years ago, the Founders knew that signing the Declaration of Independence wasn't enough. It had to be heard by the people. Washington had a copy read 5 days later in downtown NYC, what is now City Hall Park. His goal was to boost morale for his troops and show the people what they were fighting for.

Later that day, a group tore down the statue of King George III and melted it down for musket balls.
