There is officially a bin for the GSA clothing swap in the Stewart Library! The bin will collect clothes until the official day of the swap, the 28th, at which you can join us in Shepherd Union room 320 at 3PM to partake. We look forward to donations and participation from everyone who would like to contribute or participate in the swap itself.

Good Morning,

A graduate student at Longwood University is completing a study on gender-affirming voice services among gender expansive populations and is looking for individuals to complete a survey. Listed below is her request.

I am Erin Wind, a speech-language pathology graduate student at Longwood University and I am conducting a thesis project under the direction of Dr. Shannon Salley on barriers to gender-affirming voice services among gender expansive populations (e.g. transgender, nonbinary, gender q***r, etc.). We are researching the community’s awareness of and desire for available gender-affirming voice services, as well as looking to understand their experiences with and/or perceptions of providers. We are looking for participants who are 18 years or older, identify as part of the gender expansive community, and do not work or study in the field of speech-language pathology. Would you be willing to forward this quick, 5-minute survey to members of your community who may qualify? This study was approved by Longwood University's Institutional Review Board on 1/3/2022 (approval #2021-12-28).

Preferred/Authentic Names

The university is working hard to effectively and quickly change our student record systems to make sure students can input their preferred/authentic names into their records. We are also working to streamline the process to create an easily accessible form students can use to update their name.

Currently, students can input their preferred/authentic name in Canvas and on class rosters. They can also request to have their WSU email address changed to use their preferred/authentic name. This initiative is an ongoing process, we look forward to further progress in the use of preferred/authentic names across the university. For those in need to change their name within the university systems; the process can be completed through the Registrar's Office website, under the Name Change section of the records page.

Today is World AIDS Day. On this day we recognize and remember those who have been effected by HIV/AIDS. Weber State is partnering with the Northern Utah AIDS Coalition to offer free rapid HIV/Hep C testing in the Shepherd Union today from 12:00 to 3:00 pm in room 321.
