Have you ever sat on a park bench and thought the city must have not realized they bought and installed such uncomfortable place to sit? Well, maybe that was the city's intention all along. The 99% Invisible podcast dives into the topic of unpleasant design and outright hostile urban architecture.

Sociologists pay attention to these trends so they can ask questions like: who is effected by this phenomena? And why has it turned into such a widely discussed topic?

Bo***ir argued that classes duplicate themselves. How you are raised, what school you go to, and your social circle make a difference in who you are and where you are going. But what happens when society no longer values the class distinctions that were once so desirable?

"To the question, “which is the ‘real’ Eton?” – the laboratory for progressive ideas about social inclusion, or an annexe to Britain’s heritage industry – the answer is of course “both”."

The world’s most famous school aspires to become an agent of social change; but, as old boy Christopher de Bellaigue learns when he goes back, it is also an increasingly effective way for the global elite to give its offspring an expensive leg up in life
