🚵‍♀️💚 Volunteer Spotlight: The Biking Birdies 💚🚵‍♂️

A huge thank you to The Biking Birdies for coming out Thursday evening to help clear the Trackline area!

This incredible group of families and young riders rolled up their sleeves and got to work, helping keep our trails clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. It's especially inspiring to see the next generation of trail users learning the value of stewardship and giving back to the places they love to ride.

The truth is, it takes countless volunteer hours to maintain our trail system. From clearing vegetation and picking up litter to repairing infrastructure and improving trail conditions, volunteers are the backbone of our trails.

Please join us in thanking The Biking Birdies for their hard work and commitment to our community trails!

🛠️ Volunteer Spotlight 🛠️

A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers who spent time on the trails today replacing old, rotted trail totems with new ones!

Trail totems play an important role in helping visitors navigate the trail system and stay oriented while enjoying the outdoors. Over time, weather and wear can take their toll, making replacement necessary to keep our trails safe and user-friendly.

Thanks to these volunteers, trail users will continue to have clear wayfinding and a better experience on the trails for years to come.

Please join us in giving them a well-deserved thank you in the comments!

Have you ever used a trail totem or trail marker to find your way on a hike? Tell us your favorite Ogden trail below!

Come see us on June 6th!
We will have a booth at the Farmer's Market and will be passing out some free swag (while supplies last).

Celebrate National Trails Day with us on Saturday, June 6 at the Ogden Farmers Market from 8 AM–1 PM.

We’re kicking off the 2026 Peak Challenge and celebrating the trails that connect and inspire our community. National Trails Day, held each year on the first Saturday in June, highlights the incredible benefits of trails.

At Trails Foundation of Northern Utah, we use this day to educate, inspire, and get our community excited about the trails right here in Northern Utah. Stop by to learn more, get involved, and discover new ways to explore and care for your local trails.

🌿 Volunteer Shoutout 🌿

A huge THANK YOU to one of our amazing volunteers Nic McMillan who spent time cutting down the tall grass at the Birdsong Trailhead and along sections of the trail this week! 🙌

His hard work helps keep the trail safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone in our community. From improving visibility to making it easier for hikers, runners, and bikers to enjoy the trail, these efforts make a big difference. 💚

Next time you’re out at Birdsong, take a moment to appreciate the volunteers who help care for these spaces we all love.

Want to help make an impact on Ogden’s trails? We’re always looking for volunteers! 🌱

🌸 Spring is showing off on our trails!

Wildflowers are starting to pop up all around Ogden, and it’s one of the best times to get outside 🌼

As you explore, you may notice both native wildflowers and invasive plants along the trails.

A few friendly reminders:
🌿 Please don’t pick wildflowers—leave them for others (and pollinators!) to enjoy
📸 Photos are always encouraged
🌱 Curious about invasive species? Learning to identify them is a great way to help protect our trails

Have you seen any blooms yet? Share your photos below—we’d love to see what’s out there 👇

🐍 Heads up, trail friends!

As the weather warms up, snakes are active on our trails, including rattlesnakes.

Most snakes will avoid you if given space, so remember:
👀 Watch where you step and place your hands
🥾 Stay on designated trails
🐕 Keep pets close and on a leash

⚖️ Important reminder: Rattlesnakes are protected wildlife, and it is illegal to kill them.

They play an important role in our ecosystem, please give them space and let them be.

Have you spotted any yet this season?
