Weber State String Project

Once again my viola class at Weber State will be hosting the annual Viva Viola Day, a 1/2 day viola immersion for violists in junior high and high school. My students run this, offering various classes on topics related to the viola, and I do a master class.
There is no cost for participating and we serve a pizza lunch at the end. It runs from 9:00-1:00 on Saturday April 18 in the Browning Center at WSU.

It's still not too late to sign children up for the WSU String Project. Classes begin on Monday the 26th, and we are offering a new beginning class as well as the ongoing beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes. We also have a great guitar class continuing.

There is still time to register your child/children for the WSU String Project. We are opening a new beginning class this semester in addition to the continuing classes, and are accepting students in all of them. We also have a great guitar class for those who aren't into the orchestral instruments. Our teachers are ready and all we need is your children to join us.

The WSU String Project needs to hire two new string teachers for our classes. Teachers must be WSU students and will be paid as hourly workers. Our classes begin on September 29 and run through the first week of December, and then start up again in January. The WSU String Project begins September 29 in the Browning Center at WSU. Classes meet twice a week on Monday and Wednesday afternoons beginning at 4:45. There will be an orientation on the 22nd in room 136 from 7:00-8:00. Students can meet their teachers and rent instruments if they need to.

We accept all children from grades 3-12, and have various levels of classes to accommodate all students. We also offer private lessons for the students who are enrolled in our classes.

Chamber Orchestra Ogden has been asked to play a concert on November to help celebrate the centennial of Ogden Union Station. We will be playing a program of music to celebrate trains and Ogden City, everything from Crossroads of the West to a concert suite from The Polar Express.

This is a free concert and open to the public. Come join us as we celebrate 100 years of Union Station.

Friends in Weber County, Utah, please vote for keeping the RAMP tax. It's a miniscule amount, 1 penny on every $10, and it funds Recreation, Arts, Museums, and Parks in the entire county. Please help keep the many funded activities happening.
