What I love most in my life are the unexpected connections—like playing D&D with my friend Dan, who just happens to be neighbors with Carlos from the Teamsters. Or Adrienne, who started with UFCW and now works with Tanner—and can’t stop saying good things about him.

That’s what makes Pride at Work special. We’re not just union members. We’re neighbors, coworkers, teammates, dungeon masters (sometimes), and friends. We’re better when we bring both our unions and our communities together.

So come say hi, grab a sticker, a challenge coin, maybe a little solidarity with your water—check in with us, and check out what we’re about.

Pride in Progress at BYU.
It should never be shameful to be yourself—or to love who you love. But for too many students here, that’s still the reality.

That’s why showing up matters.
Being able to talk with students about union opportunities—real careers, real community—is my favorite thing. Especially when I get to brag about some of the best people I’ve met in the trades. Apprentices, Journeymen, and even leaders in our contractors as foremen. That’s how far we’ve come in IBEW 354.

Are we perfect? No.
But we lead with love.
And whether it’s in our union or another, we will find a place for you.

Because you deserve dignity. You deserve power. And you damn well deserve a future you can be proud of.

🌍 Indigenous People’s Day: Honoring the First Nations and Their Contributions 🏳️‍🌈

Today, we celebrate Indigenous People's Day by honoring the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous communities across the country. Indigenous people have long been at the forefront of advocating for justice, equality, and workers' rights.

At Pride at Work Utah, we recognize the deep intersection of Indigenous and LGBTQ+ struggles, and we stand in solidarity with our Indigenous siblings in the fight for equality and labor rights. Together, we are stronger in our advocacy for a better, more inclusive future for all.

📢 National Coming Out Day: Breaking Barriers in the Workplace 🌈

Did you know that 46% of LGBTQ+ employees remain closeted at work? Many fear discrimination, stereotyping, or damaging their relationships with coworkers. Despite advancements, workplace environments still present significant challenges for LGBTQ+ individuals:

38% fear being stereotyped

36% worry about making coworkers uncomfortable

27% fear being passed over for advancement

At Pride at Work Utah, we believe every worker should feel safe and supported to be their authentic self on the job. Coming out at work shouldn't come with fear, but with the knowledge that you will be respected and valued for who you are.

You are loved and seen by us, even if you haven’t come out yet. 🌟

Together, we can foster workplaces where no one feels the need to hide their identity. Let’s work to make coming out a celebration, not a risk.

Such a cool time to celebrate members and their years of service! We even honored an member for 70 years of membership. 🥰 I can't wait to see the make up of the retires in another 20 years.
