BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTIONS 23 JULY @ 630PM

Elections typically pit opposing “ideologies” against one another. Unfortunately for the Alano Club Inc one of the tenants of recovery is “we have ceased fighting anything and anyone” which has rightfully depleted membership here.

Make no mistake, there is an underlying negative ideology at the club. The club is caught in a repeating cycle of amoral/unethical conduct by a few longtime members. Misrepresenting their authority by misinterpreting and changing the bylaws, providing false testimony about members, concealing our annuity account, failing their fiscal duty to the Board of Directors by doing so and fostering corporate ineptitude. As a result, we are cycling through another great loss of funds via their stewardship.

A key ploy aiding this during election time is the so-called guarding against “stacking the deck” by not allowing folks to “catch up” on dues or not maintaining a record (the old computer broke trick also used repeatedly by thieves) etc. etc. While seemingly a wise rule it is absolutely preposterous in practice. A business that turns away money is destined to fail as is one that uses such shenanigans to retain its current ideologies. The solution was pointed out years ago that anyone purchasing a minimum 3-month membership election day can vote in that election as 3 months “paid” is the requirement to vote. Simply turning away paying customers over a “when they paid” is not good business or ethical.
Transparency for the elections should be apparent in the posted Official Articles of Incorporation, ByLaws and minutes of Board meetings. If these 3 things are not clearly posted that’s an issue. Denying members the vote by repeatedly having these issues each election cycle results in decreasing membership, services and participation.

Hopefully this election breaks the cycle with this solution and “change” will be possible.
