The Dreamers Award is a scholarship created by Weber State Alumni/ Ogden Locals to aid DACA and Undocumented Students with college tuition.

It is an annual scholarship which is given to a select number of applicants at the beginning of every Fall Semester

Hay que saber la diferencia entre una orden administrativa de ICE y una orden judicial. Si llega ICE a tu hogar, casi nunca tienen la orden judicial. Usualmente solo tienen una orden de administración y esa orden no les da permiso a entrar a tu casa o de hacer un arresto. Este es un derecho que tienen todos los humanos en Estados Unidos, con o sin papeles.

This Monday, February 3, 2025, communities across the United States are coming together in a powerful act of resistance and solidarity. A nationwide boycott is being organized, urging all allies to not work, attend school, buy gasoline, or shop for the day. This collective action is a response to the ongoing harm caused by policies and rhetoric rooted in racism, xenophobia, and white supremacy, which have been amplified under the Trump administration and continue to impact our communities.
The boycott is a direct challenge to the systemic oppression and violence that disproportionately affect Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Muslim, immigrant, and other communities of color. It is a stand against the dehumanizing policies that have sought to dismantle protections for immigrants, embolden white nationalist ideologies, and perpetuate ethnic cleansing through forced family separations, detention camps, and the erosion of civil rights.

This date symbolizes a unified moment of resistance, chosen to amplify the voices of those most affected by these injustices. By withholding labor, economic participation, and engagement in daily routines, participants aim to demonstrate the collective power of communities when they unite against oppression. The boycott sends a clear message: the people will not remain silent or complicit in the face of hatred and injustice.

It is with great honor that we announce the Spring 2024 recipients of the Dreamers Award:
- Tania Martinez Gardea (Metropolitan State University of Denver)
- Diana Laura Elguea-Millan (University of Utah/SLCC)

These two students have endured extreme challenges throughout their educational careers and have still found ways to come out on top. Not only are they excellent students, but they are also role models in their communities and for their families above all.

A not-so-updated update😓
Judge Hanen ruled out an order to complete termination of DACA over two years. They are not allowing a solution to be made. We must stay strong and fight for our community that is built by immigrants, for immigrants. We cannot let this keep happening.

This decision is expected to be appealed by the Biden administration and will be sent to the Supreme Court. Stay posted for future details.
