Professional Fire Fighters of Utah We provide support and resources to the Union Firefighters of the PFFU. The Professional Fire Fighters of Utah also hosts a Combined Charities Golf Tournament.

Our goals are to provide Workplace Safety, Economic Security and Education for our affiliates throughout the state. We work with our lobbyists to stay current with and pass on new rules, changes and laws in the legislature that would affect our members. We pay all the accounts payable submitted for the University of Utah Burn Camp held every summer at Camp Tracy in Millcreek Canyon, Salt Lake Coun

ty. We also coordinate the MDA Fill the Boot Drive as well as contribute to the University Burn Center River Trip for older Burn Victims. The funds raised in this event will provide additional support for The University of Utah Healthcare Burn Camp program, Operation Warm Fire Fighter Coats for Kids, Muscular Dystrophy of Utah and the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. We are privileged to work for our respective cities Fire Departments and welcome any questions or comments you might have. In Solidarity,
Your PFFU Executive Board

We will never forget the brave men and women on this day. We will also never forget the men and women who have died following a response during recovery efforts.

On this day, we honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 – and pay tribute to the fire fighters and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. We will never forget.

Stay vigilant. Hope you enjoy Labor Day 2025.

A match for Kiri.
One of our brothers needs assistance.
Brother Duke-Rosati of Local 2970.

We are running out of time to save our sweet, joyful Kiri.

Kiri is just 3½ years old. He has been diagnosed with Cerebral ALD, a devastating and aggressive brain disease—some of you may remember it from the movie Lorenzo’s Oil. Without a donor match transplant, this disease is fatal.

‍Cerebral ALD, a rare, aggressive brain disease that attacks healthy children without mercy. It begins by silently destroying the brain—stealing speech, movement, and vision—until the body shuts down completely.

Without your help in finding a donor match, Kiri could start losing critical functions within months, and his life expectancy without a match is just 2 to 4 years. We hope you will help us find a match soon.

According to his doctor, as discussed on July 28th, 2025, the deadline to begin treatment is September 8th, 2025. This only gives us a couple weeks to find a match. We are up against a deadline and action and diligence is extremely important.

KIRI NEEDS A DONOR MATCH... IMMEDIATELY.

With deepest gratitude and urgency,

Jazmynn Pok & Anthony Duke-Rosati,
and Kiri’s siblings, Nora & Rocco

Kiri is a brave, loving 3-year-old who has been diagnosed with cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a rare and devastating genetic disease that affects the brain. His only chance at survival is a bone marrow transplant — but he needs a match.

Our hearts are with the brave firefighters in Idaho who found themselves in the unimaginable position of responding to an active shooter incident while simply doing their job to serve and protect their community.

The Professional Firefighters of Utah stand in full solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Idaho. Firefighters across this nation put their lives on the line every day—not only in fires and emergencies but increasingly in situations where violence threatens their safety.

To those affected, know that your courage does not go unnoticed. We are grateful for your dedication, and we are committed to standing with you as you heal and move forward.

Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson has issued a stay on HB 267, temporarily halting its implementation while the referendum process is ongoing. This allows for our firefighters to continue to have a voice in firefighting, and comes in response to the overwhelming support we saw thoughout the state as we gathered signatures.

We wouldn’t be here without those who gathered signatures, engaged with their neighbors, and signed the referendum- thank you to all those who made this possible!

Breaking the Silence: Firefighter Mental Health Matters

In the fire service, bravery is often measured by physical strength, calm under pressure, and the willingness to charge into danger when others flee. But there’s another kind of bravery we don’t talk about enough — the courage to speak up when you're struggling.

Firefighters face intense, repeated trauma: tragic calls, sleepless nights, physical demands, and the emotional burden of always being the helper. It’s no surprise that firefighters experience higher rates of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use — yet the stigma around mental health often keeps these conversations behind closed doors.

That needs to change.

Mental health is health. A strong mind is just as essential as a strong body when it comes to saving lives and serving our communities. Seeking support isn’t weakness — it’s resilience. It’s leadership. It’s how we ensure our firefighters go home to their families and come back ready for the next call.

To our fellow firefighters: You are not alone. Your struggles are valid. There is help. Whether it’s peer support, professional counseling, or just a trusted person to talk to — reach out.

To the public: Understand that firefighters are human, too. We wear the gear and carry the tools, but we also carry what we’ve seen. Support departments that invest in mental health resources, and don’t be afraid to ask how the helpers are doing.

Let’s normalize mental health conversations in the firehouse, at the kitchen table, and in the community. Breaking the stigma saves lives — and no one gets left behind.

Utah firefighters and our citizens are standing with public workers. Don't let outside special interests take your voice!

Make the pledge: “I’m keeping my name. I’m keeping my voice.”

The opposition doesn't want HB267 to go on the ballot because they know we'd win. Keep your name on the referendum to let voters, not politicians or special interest groups, decide the fate of HB267.

Share this to stand strong with educators, firefighters, police, nurses and other public workers in Utah.
