Last night, someone illegally dumped a refrigerator at our recycling facility. Unfortunately, we cannot accept refrigerators or air conditioners because they contain Freon, which requires special handling and disposal.

If you need to recycle a refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, or other Freon-containing appliance, please take it to Alter Metal Recycling - Ogallala , where these items can be properly processed.

Illegal dumping increases costs for our nonprofit and takes valuable time away from serving our communities. Please help us to continue to allow our gates to be open 24 hours by recycling right.

Thank you for helping us keep our recycling center clean and for disposing of materials responsibly. Together, we can keep our community beautiful.

We are so thankful to those who donated to our organization! We have arranged to purchase a small baler and will be happy to get it into use.

♻️ Recycle Across America Label Spotlight: Tin & Steel Cans

Don't let the name fool you—most "tin cans" are actually made of steel!

Recycle items like:
🥫 Soup cans
🥫 Vegetable cans
🥫 Pet food cans
🥫 Coffee cans
Aluminum foil and foil pans can also be placed in this bin if clean and free of food residue.

Before recycling:
✅ Empty contents.
✅ Give cans a quick rinse.
✅ Labels can stay on.

Please do NOT include:
❌ Aerosol cans that still contain product.
❌ Paint cans with dried or liquid paint.
❌ Propane cylinders unless 100% Empty.

Steel cans are 100% recyclable and can become new products again and again!

Aluminum is one of the easiest materials to recycle—and it can be recycled over and over without losing quality! Beverage CANS only!

Recycle:
🥤 Soda cans
🥤 Sparkling water cans
🥤 Energy drink cans

Before recycling:
✅ Empty contents.
✅ Give cans a quick rinse.
✅ Crushing is optional.

Please do NOT include:
❌ Aluminum foil - Place in Tin Bin.
❌ Disposable aluminum baking pans- Clean ones can be placed in the Tin.
❌ Other metal items.

♻️ Fun Facts: An aluminum can can be recycled and back on a store shelf as a new can in as little as 60 days.
💚 Recycling aluminum saves up to 95% of the energy needed to make new aluminum from raw materials.
🥤 Aluminum can be recycled over and over again without losing its quality.

Cardboard is one of the most valuable materials we recycle!

Please recycle:
📦 Shipping boxes
📦 Moving boxes
📦 Corrugated cardboard

Before placing it in the bin:
✅ Flatten all boxes to save space.
✅ Remove excess packing materials.
✅ Keep cardboard clean and dry.

Please do NOT recycle:
❌ Pizza boxes with grease or food residue
❌ Wax-coated cardboard
❌ Wet cardboard

Flattening your boxes helps everyone by making room for more recyclables!

📄 Envelopes (including window envelopes)

Please keep paper:
✅ Clean
✅ Dry
❌ No food-soiled paper
❌ No paper towels, tissues, or napkins
