Every Thursday, we gather around the same tables, sharing stories about our week, celebrating accomplishments, catching up on family news, and laughing together while finding new ways to serve our community. Our Ogallala Rotary Club has become more than just a service organization; it has become our Rotary family. 🤝

Rotary is built on the motto “Service Above Self,” but what makes it truly special are the people behind that service: the friendships, the support, and the shared passion for making a difference.

The Ogallala Rotary Club is made up of neighbors, business owners, community leaders, parents, and friends who care deeply about this community. Together, we work to support projects focused on Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus: peacebuilding, disease prevention, water sanitation, maternal and child health, education, economic development, and environmental protection. By addressing these needs, we strengthen communities and create a lasting impact in Ogallala and beyond. 🌎

What keeps us coming back every week isn’t just the service we do, it’s the people we do it with. We are proud to be part of Rotary, proud to serve Ogallala, and grateful for the lifelong friendships this club has created. 💙

Join us Saturday, May 16th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM for an Epic Day of Service in our community.

The Ogallala Rotary Club, Ogallala High School Interact Club, and Lake Mac Rotaract Club are coming together for this service project and we would love to have you join us.

We will meet at the Howdy Shack at Casey’s. Supplies will be provided by Keep Keith County Beautiful.

You do not have to stay the full three hours, come for whatever time you can give. Every bit of help makes a difference.

This week, the Ogallala Rotary Club is proud to support Meals on Wheels through the Ogallala Keith County Senior Center by helping deliver meals throughout our community.

Today, Lurae Hagan and Ariana Mungia were out on deliveries. Mark Maly has also been serving today and yesterday, and will continue throughout the rest of the week, an incredible commitment. Jessop and Caitlin Adams also helped yesterday, along with other Rotarians participating throughout the week.

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special Rotary guest—our honorary member and birthday celebrant, David Fowler! 🎉

Dave chose to spend his birthday with us, sharing his incredible Rotary journey and reflecting on one of the most meaningful experiences of his life. He spoke about his involvement with Alliance for Smiles , where he participated in international medical missions as a photographer. Through his lens, he witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact these missions have on children and families around the world. His stories were a powerful reminder of how Rotary connects us to service that truly transforms lives. 💙

Alliance for Smiles is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free cleft lip and palate surgeries for children in underserved communities across the globe. Beyond the surgeries, they bring hope, confidence, and new opportunities to children who might otherwise go without care.

Thank you, Dave, for inspiring us with your story and for choosing to celebrate your birthday in such a meaningful way. Your passion for service continues to make a difference! 🙌

We are incredibly proud of the way our community has come together during the recent wildfires. Many members of our Ogallala Rotary Club have stepped up to volunteer, serving meals and supporting the brave firefighters on the front lines.

Today, we want to give a special shoutout to our very own Lorena Beckius, District 5630 Governor. 💙

Lorena has been on the ground every single day, helping lead this effort alongside Hot Meals USA. What started as a simple idea quickly turned into a massive operation, feeding firefighters and making sure they are taken care of after long, exhausting shifts.

As Lorena shared in the news, “it takes a village,” and this effort truly shows the power of Service Above Self. Her leadership, dedication, and heart have played a huge role in making this all possible.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to all of the volunteers, community members, service organizations, and churches who stepped up to support this effort. It truly takes a village, and our community showed up in a big way. 👏

We are so grateful for you, Lorena, and for every single person who helped make a difference.

Rotary 5630 and Hot Meals USA are serving hot meals to firefighters at the Keith County Fairgrounds in Ogallala, with volunteers from across Nebraska stepping up to help.

Service, community, and inspiration were on full display yesterday in Ogallala!

The Rotary Club of Ogallala had the privilege of hosting our very own Dick Cochrun, founder of Hot Meals USA, as our lunch program speaker. His powerful story and the impact of this incredible organization were truly inspiring and a great reminder of what it means to serve others.

Following the meeting, Dick and Greg from Hot Meals USA stopped by the City Manager’s office to personally share how impressed they were with our community. They were especially grateful for the many volunteers who stepped up and gave their time and energy to support during this time.

We are so proud to be part of a community that leads with heart and service. 💙👏
