Helping Restore Sight. Changing Lives Locally.

From June 1–15, the Rotary Club of Ogallala is proud to participate in the Big Give, a community-wide effort to support local nonprofit projects that make a real difference right here at home.

This year, our focus is the Rotary Eye Care Project, helping children, adults, and seniors access the vision care they need—but often cannot afford.

In partnership with First Insight Eyecare, we are able to provide eye exams and glasses for individuals in need—restoring more than just vision, but confidence, learning, independence, and opportunity.

Clear vision impacts everything:
• A child’s success in school
• An adult’s ability to work safely and effectively
• A senior’s independence and quality of life

Something as simple as a pair of glasses can truly change a life.

The Ogallala Rotary Club is excited to welcome Ashley Lewis, Executive Director of The Connection Homeless Shelter in North Platte, as our program speaker on Thursday, May 21.

Ashley, who is also a fellow Rotarian with the North Platte Rotary Club (Noon), will be sharing about the shelter and the services they provide. While Ogallala does not currently have a homeless shelter, this is an important opportunity to learn more about ways we can support and care for communities so close to our own.

Today was an amazing day of service for the Ogallala Rotary Club! 💙🌎

We spent the morning helping clean up our community, and it was incredible to see so many people come together to make a difference. One of the best parts of the day was watching the kids jump in with smiles, teamwork, and a willingness to help. Seeing the younger generation care about keeping our community clean and beautiful gives so much hope for the future.

A special thank you to Mike Law for leading and organizing this project. Your dedication and leadership helped make today such a success!

It’s amazing what can happen when a community works together. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, picked up trash, encouraged others, and helped make today a success. Every small act of service matters!

Every Thursday, we gather around the same tables, sharing stories about our week, celebrating accomplishments, catching up on family news, and laughing together while finding new ways to serve our community. Our Ogallala Rotary Club has become more than just a service organization; it has become our Rotary family. 🤝

Rotary is built on the motto “Service Above Self,” but what makes it truly special are the people behind that service: the friendships, the support, and the shared passion for making a difference.

The Ogallala Rotary Club is made up of neighbors, business owners, community leaders, parents, and friends who care deeply about this community. Together, we work to support projects focused on Rotary’s 7 Areas of Focus: peacebuilding, disease prevention, water sanitation, maternal and child health, education, economic development, and environmental protection. By addressing these needs, we strengthen communities and create a lasting impact in Ogallala and beyond. 🌎

What keeps us coming back every week isn’t just the service we do, it’s the people we do it with. We are proud to be part of Rotary, proud to serve Ogallala, and grateful for the lifelong friendships this club has created. 💙

Join us Saturday, May 16th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM for an Epic Day of Service in our community.

The Ogallala Rotary Club, Ogallala High School Interact Club, and Lake Mac Rotaract Club are coming together for this service project and we would love to have you join us.

We will meet at the Howdy Shack at Casey’s. Supplies will be provided by Keep Keith County Beautiful.

You do not have to stay the full three hours, come for whatever time you can give. Every bit of help makes a difference.

This week, the Ogallala Rotary Club is proud to support Meals on Wheels through the Ogallala Keith County Senior Center by helping deliver meals throughout our community.

Today, Lurae Hagan and Ariana Mungia were out on deliveries. Mark Maly has also been serving today and yesterday, and will continue throughout the rest of the week, an incredible commitment. Jessop and Caitlin Adams also helped yesterday, along with other Rotarians participating throughout the week.
