Dear Friends of Offutt AFB,

This holiday season, the Offutt Advisory Council has a special opportunity to support some of our most in-need families and Airmen at Offutt AFB through 2026 Operation Giving Thanks.

Thanks to generous support from our community partners—including a $10,000 grant from Mutual of Omaha, a $10,000 contribution from Google, 600 three-pound bundles of ground beef from Greater Omaha Packing, and a $5,000 sponsorship from Union Pacific—we have a strong start toward making this important holiday initiative possible.

Our goal is to provide 600 Airmen families with a turkey, ham, three pounds of ground beef, and a $100 gift certificate to help provide holiday meals for both Thanksgiving and the Christmas/New Year season.

In addition, we will provide food and gift certificates to more than 450 Airmen living in the dorms at Offutt AFB. Your donation or sponsorship will also help support the Offutt Airmen’s Pantry throughout the holiday season.

While Mutual of Omaha, Google, Greater Omaha Packing, and Union Pacific have given us an incredible foundation, we still need your help to cover the full cost of this project. Your support can help ensure that no Airman or family goes without a holiday meal to enjoy together.

Our goal this year is to raise $250,000 to support these important holiday initiatives and provide assistance to Offutt’s most in-need Airmen and families. We are grateful for every contribution, regardless of size. All contributing organizations will be publicly recognized for their generous support of our military families.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. The Salvation Army is coordinating an effort to distribute "Heartland Honors" yard signs for businesses and homes. These signs commemorate the 25th Anniversary and honor our nation's first responders. The signs will be distributed at metro area HyVee Stores on Saturday, August 29, from 9 am-12 noon.

The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help with the distribution at HyVee Stores. If you or your co-workers are able to volunteer, please sign up at https://x.gldn.io/e/9nuHi23eS5b

or contact [email protected].

Bring awareness and support in honoring first responders by handing out signs to customers at your local Hy-Vee!

Scoops for Troops Makes a Difference!

This morning, OAC member Heath Wright and his fellow Union Pacific Vets presented a $9,000 check to the Offutt Airman’s Attic!

These funds were raised during the annual Scoops for Troops event, where the UP Vets serve up ice cream while hosting a raffle and silent auction.

What a wonderful way to bring people together while giving back to our Offutt Airmen and their families!

Needless to say, Catina was absolutely overjoyed! ❤️

Thank you, UP Vets, for your incredible generosity, hard work, and continued support of the Offutt community! 🇺🇸🍦👏

Photo overload 📸📷. But yesterday was such a great day - we want people to see the majority of those that make it happen!!

Looks like the weather agreed that our military deserved a beautiful day of thanks and held off until today☔️. We can now appreciate the much needed rain☔️
