Welcome Back to the 2026-2027 Bowling Season…

Iowa State Bowling Associations members we want to make sure you let your fellow bowlers understand and be prepared for the change that is coming down from USBC on Membership Cards……

We wanted to clarify a few things regarding USBC Membership Cards.

THIS YEAR: If you have not done so already just a reminder that you can purchase/renew your annual memberships through your league or on bowl.com. USBC will mail out membership cards this year just as in past years.

CHANGES FOR NEXT YEAR (2027-28): you will still be able to purchase/renew your membership through your league or on bowl.com however, USBC will transition to digital membership cards and will not mail out the physical cards.

We hope everyone has a great bowling season!

Thanks Greater Cedar Valley USBC for the reminder 🎳

BOWL.com is the interactive home for USBC, the national governing body of bowling. We’re a membership organization that provides standardized rules, regulations and benefits to make bowling fair and fun for everyone.

IOWA’S JOSHUA LANGHOLDT CAPTURES 2026 USBC OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS STANDARD ALL-EVENTS TITLE
August 20, 2026
Joshua Langholdt
The Iowa bowling community has a new national champion to celebrate.

Joshua Langholdt of Charter Oak captured the 2026 USBC Open Championships Standard All-Events title, finishing with a nine-game total of 2,028, the highest score in the division and a new Standard Division record. His performance included series of 706 in singles, 674 in doubles, and 648 in team competition.

After making his trip to Reno in May, Langholdt found himself atop the leaderboard for the first time in his 15 appearances at the USBC Open Championships. What followed were months of watching scores and waiting to see if anyone could catch him. Ultimately, no one did.

“I’m not sure if it has still sunk in that I am a National Champion,” Langholdt said.“When we left Nationals in May, seeing my name on the leaderboard for the first time in 15 years bowling at that tournament was unreal in itself.”

The waiting was not easy.

“Checking scores daily and seeing guys post scores was extremely nerve-racking,” Langholdt said.“Then the amount of excitement after the scores were finalized and knowing I was the champion was an unreal feeling that I don’t know if I will ever be able to explain.”

The USBC Open Championships is one of bowling’s premier national events, drawing tens of thousands of bowlers from across the country each year. To finish at the top of the field and earn a national title is an accomplishment reserved for a select few.

Congratulations to Joshua Langholdt on an outstanding performance and on becoming the 2026 USBC Open Championships Standard All-Events Champion. Iowa Bowlers and fans across the state are proud to celebrate this incredible achievement.

2026 Bowl for the Cure tournament - I am hoping to send our donation check to USBC soon. If you still have an outstanding prize check that you don't intend to cash and would like it added to the donation, please let me know ASAP. I still have several uncashed checks. If it's been lost and you need/want a replacement, let me know. THANK YOU!!!! (FYI - all prior prize tournament checks have been voided. Please destroy them if you still have one.) Also, accepting donations (that aren't prize checks). 😀

There are still a lot of uncashed checks from the BFTC tournament that were issued in March. Please cash ASAP or send back to Shannon McHugh to be included in the donation to USBC. Thanks! (its easier for me to track the donation $ if I receive back your check instead of destroying it). :D
